He joined AZ from Vitesse in the 2005/2006 season. Stijn is regarded as a tough tackling midfielder who can play as a DMC or on the left of midfield. Stijn made his international debut in 2006 for Holland against the Republic of Ireland in a 4-0 victory. Vitesse Arnhem 2002- 2005, Appearances – 55 AZ – 2005 – Present, Appearances – 42 Stijn can play in a number of positions in midfield. He is a very creative and can pass a ball extremely well. He will be the main creative threat in your side. Not sure if he would suit as a defensive midfielder as his tackling and work rate don’t look like they are up to scratch for this role. I reckon if you trained him as an AMC he would be more suited here. Stijn has loads of strengths going for him to suit a creative midfield role: Passing – 16 Anticipation – 16 Composure – 16 Creativity – 17 Decisions – 16 Determination – 17 Positioning – 16 Free Kicks – 15 Some of Stijns weaker points: Tackling – 12 Aggression – 11 Bravery – 12 Work Rate – 13 Strength – 11 Pace -12 Acceleration – 12 Penalty Taking – 12 Stijn would be a great signing for a mid table side or a club trying to push for European sides. He creates loads of chances and gets his fair share of assists if given the right role in midfielder. A great signing if you can get him. Guide written by me for FMF. Even his weaker points are pretty good and above 10. I will have to look at this player in the future. Good job again John.
