Real Life:
Dario Bottinelli is considered a good prospect for the future. He managed to establish himself in the San Lorenzo first during the 2006-07 season. For the start of the 07-08 season he was transferred to Racing. Earlier in 2008, he went on loan to Universidad Católica, where he scored 8 goals in 10 match.
In Football Manager:
He is brilliant in FM08. I signed him for 50k when my Darlington was in LEAGUE 2. He doesn’t come until the next season, by then he was already worth £1,000,000! He doesn't need a work permit since his second nationality is Italian. He doesn't ask for much, around £200-800 wages and little bonuses.
Tactical:
He can play in Midfield, Right Midfield And Attacking Midfielder (Right), however his best position is Attacking Midfield, where he is most dangerous. If you use a playmaker, then Dario Bottinelli is the one for that role because of his creativity and technique. He should definitely be assigned to set pieces (free kicks and corners) If you want, you could use him on the wings because he is good at getting pass players and his crossing skills is excellent.
Stats ( Patch 8.0.1) May Differ In Other Patches, particularly 8.0.2!
Strength:
Corners: 18
Finishing: 18
First Touch: 18
Free Kicks: 17
Long Throws: 17
Penalty Taking: 17
Work Rate: 16
Acceleration : 18
Pace: 17
Balance: 16
As you can see, his set piece is extraordinary and his pace is just as good. He can shoot, pass and is the ideal attacking midfielder you will ever find, particularly for lower leagues! And to believe he would come to League 2!!
Weakness:
Jumping: 3
Natural Fitness: 5
Stamina: 10
Strength: 9
Heading: 6
Marking: 9
Tackling: 6
With a height of 168cm and Strength of 9, he isn’t the ideal target man nor the player with great aerial ability (which is a reason why you should let him take corner kicks) His stamina and fitness needs working or he wont be able to last long on the pitch. He isn't a defender so the last 3 stats arent too important although you may like to get it up anyway.
Conclusion:
Despite the weakness, his strength makes up for it. It's best to buy early in the season or you will miss out on him as his value goes up extremely quickly. He's a fantastic player and just too good for League 1. Give him a few years and he will be a star in the Premier League.
