Default Diego Forlan

Diego Forlán Corazzo
Cachabacha
Forward

Personal Information

Born Montevideo
Date May 19th 1979
Nationality Uruguayan
Dual nationality Spanish

Career to date (senior clubs)

1998 – 2002 Independiente (Arg) 77apps 36 goals
2002 – 2004 Manchester Utd (Eng) 95 apps 17 goals
2004 – 2007 Villarreal (Spa) 106 apps 54 goals
2007 - Atletico Madrid (Spa) 25 apps 13 goals

2002 - Uruguay 46 apps 17 goals

Player bio

Too date Forlan has been a revelation at every club he played for except for Manchester United. He made his Debut at Manchester Utd on January 19th but took him until August 18th before he actually scored. Some say that this was a detrimental blow to his confidence and it questioned if Forlan had what it took to play at the top level of European football. He did goon too be a fan favourite at Old Trafford despite him only ever scoring 17 goals for the club, Man United fans will always say two of those were the most important goals of his career as they came against arch rivals Liverpool

Since Man Utd Forlan has gone on to Spain were he has been a revelation. Firstly at Villareal were his record was a goal every other game accumulating with him winning the “pichichi” (top scorer) award in his first season. Also that year Forlan shared the European Golden Boot Award with no other than Thiery Henry.

Forlan was attracting looks from all top European clubs at this stage and was linked with moves to both Italy and ironically back to England. In 2007 Villarreal accepted a bid of €21 from Atletico Madrid and Frolan moved on

At Atletico Forlan has also been succesful and is currently an intergral part of the Atletico team fighting for a Champions League spot this season

Internationaly Forlans record is up there with the best of them. He currently has scored 17 goals and has appeared at Copa Americas and World Cups for Uruguay.

Player Verdict.

Forlan is one of the class strikers in Football Manager. If you decide to buy him you must allow him time to settle, once you have done this you will reap the benefits of his clinical finishing.

When I had him at Atletico he scored 34 goals in one season and I once bought him at Everton were he managed to score a staggering 39 goals.

If you can afford him (normally a bid of €20 million) go get him, you wont regret it

Nice one mate. Didn't really need to be reminded of those goals, lol.
