Jefferson was born on the 28th 0f October 1984 in Lima, Peru. Farfan’s career began when he signed for Peruvian side Alianza. He made the break through into the First team in 2002 and was an instant hit. During this season he helped Alianza win the Peruvian league title.
During the 2004 season Farfan was in great form scoring 14 goals. After Alianza won the league Farfan had attracted the attention of PSV, whom he signed for in a 2million euro deal.
Jefferson is a key player for Peru notching up more then 20 caps so far in his career. His goals have also helped Psv reach the semi finals of the 06/07 Champions League. He was also the South American 2006 World Cup qualifiers second top scorer on 7 goals.
Jefferson’s main strengths are his incredible pace. He will take on defenders and will beat them, as I have found this out. He is a great dribbler of the ball and his first touch is second to none. Free kicks are another of his strong points and should not be over looked. Again he has finishing of 16 which means he knows were the goal is and how to finish ‘em off.
Some of Farfan’s weaknesses are his positioning and his influence but he has way too many good points going to be able to run him down lol. One other weakness that could be improved is his concentration, which is rated at 12.
The overall verdict that I have on Jefferson is that he would be a great signing for anyone, especially a mid table/top 10 club. He will bag you the goals and does’nt mind creating a few either. 7mil for a 20 goal a season player is a bargain and I would recommend him to anyone
