In Real Life:
Jimmy Briand (born August 2, 1985 in Vitry-sur-Seine, France) is a French football player who plays as a forward. He currently plays for Stade Rennais, and has also played for the French national under-21 team in recent times. He won the Coupe Gambardella in 2003. He received his first call-up to the senior France National Team in May 2007 for the June Euro qualifiers against Ukraine and Georgia.
Briand is being tipped to be one of France's top strikers in the future, and his playing style has drawn comparisons with Thierry Henry. After starring for Stade Rennais in the 2006-2007 season, he attracted the attention of clubs such as Arsenal, Saint-Etienne, Newcastle, Portsmouth and Lens.
On Football Manager 2008:
Briand is a goalscorer, simple as, he can score goals.
Main position is a centre forward but he can drift of onto the right attacking midfield side.
At start of game a leading star for any Championship sides looking for promotion and proberbly capable of playing in the Premiership.
He does develop over time a little bit into a better player, with many attributes increasing.
He deffinately has the potential required to be a star for a Premiership team in the future.
He is a born finisher who will score shed loads of goals for years to come.
By 2010 hes a great finisher and almost all attributes have got better, to view an image of Briand in 2010 click

Stade Rennais class Briand as one of their best players so to get him on your team you might need to table a bid of 8,000,000 to 10,250,000 and then offer wages of around 4,500 per week.
Their isnt much difference between Jimmy Briand and Nicklas Bendtner at the start of the game, and they both develop into class players.
Tactical Instructions:
Play Jimmy as Forward, in my opinion its the only position for him and thats where he likes it, scoring the goals, raising his confidence.
He also pocesses great pace so thread balls through for him to run onto and he'll easily win the race to them.
Strengths: He pocesses great pace.
Accelaration underpins his overall speed.
A Player who enjoys the big matches.
Professional personality.
Weaknesses: May have to do a fair bit of adapting but not much of a problem.
Conclusion: If your a Championship side aiming to get in the Premiership whether that be this season or in the near future, you should deffinately have a look at this guy, Hell get you loads of goals and maybe be the difference to getting promoted or relegated.
