In Real Life Cillian Sheridan (born 23 February 1989 in Bailieborough, County Cavan, Ireland) is a footballer who plays for Scottish Premier League club Celtic as a left-sided or central forward.
Sheridan previously played for Belvedere F.C. in Dublin and also played Gaelic football for Bailieboro Shamrocks. He was a member of the Cavan minor squad before moving to Celtic in summer 2006. After scoring freely for the Celtic under 19 team, Sheridan was promoted to the Reserve team then the first team squad during his first season at the club, a "spectacular rise" according to coach Joe McBride.
Sheridan made his first team debut for Celtic in the Scottish Cup against Inverness Caledonian Thistle, on 25 February 2007 and he signed a new three year contract with the club two days later.
In Football Manager '08 In FM2008, Cillian Sheridan is a great young player. He wont have an instant impact in any of the big leagues, but in the first season he is ace in League 1. I have him for Accrington, which proves he signs for smaller clubs too, and he has scored 27 goals in 20 games, still in November. He has potential to be one of the great strikers in the world.
Tactical Instructions Sheridan plays best in SC, although he is competent in and AML position. I set his tactical instructions to striker and I really feel I am getting what any manager wants for any club, 27 goals at the start of November.
Strengths Cillian Sheridans two main strengths at the start of the game are Jumping (18) and Natural Fitness (18). This proves to be great as he scores lots of headers and is not injury prone, what you want from a striker.
Weakness's Cillian Sheridan's weakest points on the pitch are Corner (3) and Marking (3). As a striker though, he is normally in the box for corners and doesn't really need to mark anyone because he is always up the field. Don't worry though, if this has put you off, or his stats at the start have put you off, they soon pick up and he becomes great.
Conclusion Sheridan is a great player. He will guarantee you at least 25 goals in League 1 from the start, and at least 25 goals in the EPL from around 2010. Give him a try, you can't exactly go wrong with a player when you are not spending a penny for him and he only wants £300 per week.
