    Default C&C

I recently found my old games and was looking forward to playing some Red Alert.
The problem is that it wont let me install it as it is only a windows 95 game, and i unfortunately have vista.
Is there any way around this?

I found a patch you can get from here - but I cannot say if it works or not, been a while since I last had to patch RA 1. Nathan has some good patches around for the first decade titles.

Edit: Thought I would mention if you do not already own it. You can buy The First Decade from amazon.co.uk with them already pre-patched. But I would recommend having the CnC patch (TFD) from commandandpatch.com installed.

thanks for the help, but the trouble i'm having is that i can't patch the game, because it wont let me install it, and so theres nowhere for the patch to go!
i may have to buy it again, already patched then?!

If you go to "My Computer" and right click the disc drive it's in, select "Explore" and locate the set up program. You need to set compatibility here so right click, Properties, then the compatibility tab. Try setting for 95 and 98 settings.

And yes, TFD is already patched, link to it on Amazon is in the edit I posted.

  5. Thanks From:
