Our rivals can be happy but for FMFormation and their fans this is very unfortunate news. We are sad to announce that there won't be a FMFormation's Database Update this summer.
This decision is made based on multiple reasons. One of those is the disappearance of Hicapaul, who had done a big amount of work on the update before we went on holiday two months ago. Unfortunately, he forgot to give us the update and I haven't heard from his since. This was a major setback because we had to start over from scratch.
When Fedorico Roma Fan and I were finally getting back on track, a tragedy happened in Fed's life. I certainly won't go into details but it was a setback which we didn't recover from.
We apologize to everyone who visits FMFormation and especially to our Donators since a lot of them donated to get the many beta versions of the database update and are missing out on them now. Again, we are very sorry about this but we hope you can respect our decision.
Is this the end of FMFormation's Database Updates? Of course not, we intend to give you another quality update when FM2009 is in stores.

No worries Bozza, it's not your fault.
Obviously there were setbacks with Fed and Paul's problems, and I respect your decision to cancel the update. It's an unnecessary amount of work for you to be doing in such a short time.
And I donated to help improve FMF, the database was the least of my worries then.
There's plenty of other updates out there, none I have to say as good as the usual FMF one, but hopefully FMF can take this in its stride to make next year's update twice as good!

These things happen at the end of the day, we're more like a big family than a forum community, a database doesn't matter and if people were that desperate for a new one then I'm sure people could volunteer, me included. |

Well, it's a shame that the update isn't to be released but the unforeseen events can't be predicted.
At least you all tried your best to get it released and I'm sure I'm not the only one to thank you both for your hard work (and whoever else was involved). |
