We will also send out a mail to all the members of FMF, notifying them about this month's Newsletter. A lot has happened in the month February. Here is a pretty large summary of the things you might have missed. FMFormation’s Database Update v1.0 (February 7, 2008) In the first week of February, we released our first database update for FM08. With over xxxx downloads in our Downloads Center alone, we can say that the update is yet another success of the always growing site of FMF. We update has been released before patch 8.0.2 so it is based on the 8.0.1 update. Now that patch 8.0.2 is out, we will start over using the database update included in that one and together with the scouts we are going to try to make the summer update as up-to-date as possible. Click here to go to the database update... Custom Databases: Birth Of A New Nation (February 13, 2008) Fedorico Roma Fan has come up with yet another fantastic custom database project. Fed will be creating a new nation. He will be replacing Northern Ireland and name it FMFormation. Here is the fun part, you can select the city names, team names, stadium names etcetera. The idea seems to be very popular and fun even though it is still a very new concept. Discuss about it and share ideas. Learn more about the nation called FMFormation... Patch 8.0.2 (February 17, 2008) On February 17, 2008, Sports Interactive released the second patch for Football Manager 2008. A patch almost every FM fan was waiting for and dreaming about. We won’t be the judge of the quality of the patch but we definitely feel that patch 8.0.2 is worth installing over 8.0.1. On a note, 8.0.2 contained the famous Defoe-bug. An updated version of the 8.0.2 patch fixed that bug and a couple of other bugs. We suggest you install that version before starting a new game. Learn mre about the patch... FMFormation’s 2 Years Anniversary (February 26, 2008) On February 26, we celebrated the second birthday of FMFormation. In 2006, FMF was created and now 2 years later we have grown a lot in every way possible. It’s been a great adventure so far and we are positive that many wonderful years will follow in which we can make FMF an even more important site in the Football Manager Scene. We would like to ask you to take a moment to visit the original topic of the anniversary and leave a message. Celebrate the anniversary... New Moderators Appointed (February 2008) We have some new Moderators to introduce to you guys. Since we decided that Moderators can do vBookie as well, we decided to drop the vBookie Team and change it into Trial Moderators. Vegitto989, John10 (formally known as MUFCRULZ) and WozzaWolves, all part of the old vBookie Team, have been given the chance to prove themselves as a Moderator. We also appointed two new Moderators on trial. Scholesy18 and Hicapaul have been active on FMF for a very long time now and we decided to give them a chance as a trial Moderator. We are certain that they will make us proud! Welcome to the Moderators Crew guys! FM08 Forum Sections: A New Way of Moderating (February 2008) We’ve totally reorganized our crew. From now on, we are expecting more from our Moderators. Not only keeping track of new posts but also to try and make FMF bigger and better. In order to achieve this, we came up with the idea of Moderators having their own FM08 section(s). Each Mod is in charge of his own section. He will keep track of all the new posts made, moderate them and provide with help whenever needed. Besides that, his job is to make sure that the section becomes more and more active. Things to do, things to read, things to discuss about. It doesn’t matter as long as the section is growing and growing. FM08 sections will not only have their own Moderator but also a supervisor. Supervisors can moderate new posts and threads. A Supervisor can also help out a Moderator whenever needed. He can share ideas, work together on projects and comment on current projects. This will hopefully create teambuilding and that’s what a site crew is all about. Below you can see who is in charge of which section(s) and the section’s supervisor(s). General Discussions Moderator: Fedorico Roma Fan Moderator: Lukeharmz Supervisor: Vegitto989 Scouting Network Moderator: Evertonfan Supervisor: WozzaWolves Supervisor: Hicapaul Tactics & Trainings Moderator: Vegitto989 Supervisor: John10 The Online World Moderator: Scholesy18 Supervisor: Evertonfan Challenge Me Moderator: Scholesy18 Supervisor: Evertonfan Your Current Game Moderator: WozzaWolves Supervisor: Fedorico Roma Fan The Writers Section Moderator: WozzaWolves Supervisor: Fedorico Roma Fan Custom Databases Moderator: Fedorico Roma Fan Moderator: Hicapaul Guides & Articles Moderator: John10 Moderator: Hicapaul Supervisor: Lukeharmz New Shoutbox and Location (February 2008) Near the end of February, we decided to install a new shoutbox for you guys to chat about Football Manager and other football released issues. Some things have changed though. The new shoutbox isn’t available on the Homepage anymore. You can find it on the Forums and on the Forums only. The reason for this is to give newly visitors and members a better feeling when they come on FMF. With the old shoutbox there were some arguments and fights going on every now and then. For some visitors and members it was the first thing they saw when browsing on FMFormation. So we decided to keep it on the Forums only since the Forums are for discussions and to chat and so is the shoutbox. Another feature we added is that a member needs 5 posts before he or she can use the shoutbox. This is to prevent giving immediately access to people who are seeking to start trouble in the shoutbox. We know that many members won’t bother making 5 posts in order to harass people in the shoutbox. We would like to tell you guys that making spam posts on the Forums isn’t allowed. Spam posts will be deleted from the Forums and from your post count. Continuing with spamming will result in a ban from FMF. Just take a minute to make a useful post or ask for help whenever needed. The new shoutbox itself has some pretty neat features, which are mostly for the moderators. Mods can easily remove single shouts or all shouts from a member, clear the whole shoutbox, ban people from the shoutbox and other things. Handy features for everyone are that you can see the time when someone made his shout, that you can ignore another member if you think he’s annoying and you can send a private message to another member which only he can read in the shoutbox. Go to the Forums for using the shoutbox... 2007 Annual Awards: The Outcome (February 2008) Voting for our 2007 Annual Awards have come to an end and now it is time for the outcome!
