The Alliance Premier League was the first attempt at creating a fully national league below the Football League, drawing clubs form the Northern Premier League and the Southern League. The league greatly improved the qulaity of football at this lower level, in addition to improving the finanical statuus of the top clubs. This was reflected when, in 1986, the Football League started to accept direct promotion and relegation between the Conference National (the league had been renamed), and the bottom divison of the Football League, the Football League Fourth Divison (now Football League 2). The first team to be promoted with this system was Scarborough, and the first relegated was Lincoln City. Media Coverage In August 2006, Setanta Sports signed a five year deal with the Blue Square Premier. Under the deal, Setanta Sports has started showing live mathces in the 2007-08 season, with 79 live matches each season. Inluded in the deal were the Play Off matches as well as the Setanta Shield, a cup competition for the three Football Conference leagues. Setanta show two matches each week, one on Tuesday evening and one at the weekend. It wouldnt take much to make this a superb guide, if you added some pics and opinions too. Not a bad effort 6.5/10 | Signature-Care of Ru Top FMF GFX Artist Current game Birmingham/Spain 2009-10 | | | 08-04-08, 11:11 AM | #4 (permalink) | | Hot Prospect Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: Dublin Posts: 94 Thanks: 5 Thanked 29 Times in 28 Posts | good guide mate ..... I tend to write league guides and appreciate it can be hard to accumalate information. I would use the internet to collate information on the league and its history and then use my own expierience to talk about how challenging and enjoyable the league is Also use your expierience to talk about how the finacial set up of the league is and what sort of standard of players it attracts Well done and KUTGW Last edited by johnireland; 08-04-08 at 11:11 AM.
