Heres a guide to tell you what to do and how to use their weakness to your advantage. Firstly, the scout scouting your opposition should always have high Tactical Knowledge, so they can give you reliable advice. Opponent Uses A Defensive/Counter Attacking Formation: Set Your Mentality To Normal Opponent Uses Attacking Formation Set Your Mentality To Defensive/Counter Attacking: Opponenet Uses Normal Mentality Formation: Set Your Mentality To Attacking Opponent Plays Possession Football: Play Possession Football too (Short Passing, Slow Tempo) but it would mean you would have to sacrifice counter attacking as it doesnt really work when playing possession football. Also put time wasting on often to give your team time to think. HOWEVER, if the weather isn't good (eg Raining) then play direct football (Direct passing but slower passing due to weather) againest a team playing possession. Opposition Plays Direct, Fast Football: If it is dry, then play possession football to annoy your opponent. However if the weather isnt good, then play direct football but with normal tempo. Opposition Uses Mixed Passing: Can be countered by playing fast direct football or possession football. Draw Opposition And Then Counter Attack: It means they play their defense line deep and attempt counter attack. They also dont try and close you down. Its best not to lose possession so play direct football if possible. Fast Players, Attack With Pace: Play A Deeper defensive line, and dont mark them tightly, stand off so they cant get behind your defense and slow down the tempo, because it also means they would use a fast tempo. Strong And Quick Players: Play a deeper defensive line and counter attack. Depending on weather, then you should mix around, I normally would use Direct football with normal tempo just a notch below fast. Opponents Get Ball To Their Front: Use Tight Marking and if scouts doesnt say this, then dont use tight marking or it could mess things up. Defense On The Slow Side: Play fast strikers and tick counter attack. You could also set through balls to often. Defense Doesnt Pose Aerial Threat: Cross In As Much As Possible. Put tall strong target man/strikers and give their defense a headache. Prevent Strikers Recieving Ball To Feet: You could try marking their players and hard tackling, although their strikers might get behind your players. Also dont play deep defensive line, because their strikers are likely to be skilful at dribbling. Dangerman: You should think about Marking them all the time, Closing him down, Hard tackling and Show onto weaker foot. It's not time to play nice, particularly if hes someone like Ronaldo or Fabregas. Home Games: Be more attacking at home. You can play direct fast football and have normal time wasting on. If you feel attacking and like to pile pressure, think about having your defense line pushing up. Mark Players in the centre of the pitch, (eg.midfielders) as away teams tend to go for a more narrow approach. Away Games: Think about playing A little more defensively then you would at home. Play possession football with normal/slow tempo. If you are losing, then you could switch to direct, fast football. Look to mark their wingers more when away as they tend to use flanks a bit more. Also time waste should be on Often to give your team time to think. You should think about using a Home and Away tactic and maybe a "Defending A Lead" and "Needing A Goal" Tactic. Also, before a match, click on your opponent team and click on tactics, Click on their team tactic. It reveals their style of football and can be quite useful for you. Hope this guide helps you. PS. If I miss out any or anything is wrong, tell me and I will put it right! Dont Forget To Hit Thanks :S PS. This guide does not provide 100% guarantee win. I just tried it with my next match and, although I may have won anyway, I was much more pleased with the performance. I changed the scout that gave me info on the next opposition, and then followed your ideas about the way to play....and won 3-0. I'm playing as Salzburg (as per 'The Fed's suggestion) and was playing in the Champions League qualifying against Lazio. Lost 0-2 at home in the first leg, but now with a 3-0 win and then a narrow 0-1 defeat, I was hopeful of a good performance. I'm sure your tactics have helped because, unbelievably, I've just won 3-1 in the Olympic Stadium, Rome. So Champions League football comes to Salzburg. Thanks a million! | | | | | 02-05-08, 11:25 AM | #4 (permalink) | | Hot Prospect Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Adelaide Posts: 77 Thanks: 23 Thanked 3 Times in 3 Posts | Great guide. Noone says you cant trust a scout with low Tac.Knowledge, but for my Eastleigh team, i personally have a scout with 16 Tactical Knowledge. | Current Game: Eastleigh, 2008/2009 2007/2008 - Eastleigh, 1st in Blue Square South 2008/2009 - Eastleigh, 1st in Blue Square Premier, Won Setanta Shield, Runners Up in FA Trophy | | | 04-05-08, 12:04 AM | #6 (permalink) | | Scout For FMF's DB Update Join Date: May 2007 Location: Scotland Not Britain Posts: 548 Thanks: 29 Thanked 110 Times in 101 Posts | pretty usefull mate i hope to see more fo this from you kiu | | | | 24-05-08, 06:55 AM | #7 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 2 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | Nice one son! arapho | | | | | 29-05-08, 10:33 AM | #8 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: May 2008 Location: there, yeah, there!
