Tiny Clubs with Tiny Budget Management Guide for Tiny Clubs: My point of view. A big problem with small clubs is, besides the lack of quality problem, having a lower budget which limitates our market movements. Some players try to improve the squad by hiring expensive players and expect the team to improve on the new injection of quality. As we know, game engine of FM2008 makes it harder for team work to along mainly if you bring a lot of new faces. 1. Squad Build-Up Let's say I'm gonna use a 442 classic. Our squad composition must be something like this: Number of GK's: 2 + 1 from youth/reserve teams. For the GK's you need a good one for starter, a decent as a replacement and one from the youth squad who will barely play, uynless he got potential, since he's just there to cover any possible hole. Number of Right Back's: 2 A good one for a starter and a decent one for the sub. Number of Left Back's: 2 A good one for a starter and a decent one for the sub. Number of Center Back's: 3 + 1 from youth/reserve teams 2 good center-backs as starters, 1 decent as sub and a youth/reserve to cover the holes. Number of CMf: 3 + 1 from youth/reserve team: 2 good center-miedfs as starters, 1 decent as sub and a youth/reserve to cover the holes. Number of RMf: 2 1 good as starter and 1 decent as sub. Number of LMf: 2 1 good as starter and 1 decent as sub. Number of Strikers: 3 + 1 from youth/reserve team 2 good ones as starters, 1 decent for a sub, 1 youth/reserve to cover the gaps. 2. Matching the build-up requirements If your team matchs the build-up requirements, great. Sell or offer other unnecessary players to increase your free space on the budget. When having a space on the budget you now can increase the options of your squad (for example, having 3 good center-backs as options + 1 decent as sub). If you don't match the build-up requirements, get ready. 3.Moving on the transfer market Do never ever hire an excess of players. I mean never. It will be terrible in long term. At the end of the season your balance will be a nightmare. For example, if your team already has 2 right miedfielders who were previously hired to be starters and they have a "high" wage, don't buy anyone before selling him. Unless there is no other way. Because having an excess of "high" waged players on the squad will make your bank balance fall into the cliff, and trut me, the prize money for being in a good position will not be enough for you to balance your accounts. I've experinced that. Remeber, don't try to match your available budget. Although the game will say you have (for example) 20k/month of budget, if you fullfill the budget you will notice that your balance will fall in a flash. Try not to pass 80% of your wage budget if you wanna keep your bank balance healthy. In other words, don't fulfill your wage budget and don't exceed the build-up requirements (for example having 6 center backs, with 2 of them having bad quality but receiving a high wage). Always try to match the requirements, unless you have enough budget space to exceed it. Only hire 30+ players if they are really really good. Why? Because usually experienced players get higher wages, and you can't get any revenue from a possible future sale due to his "advanced" wage. If you find a 30+ player who is better than any possible hiring, sign him. Otherwise, avoid them. 4.Avoid selling your starters Yes, avoid selling them unless it is a fantastic offer or it's an offer good enough that will let you have the money to buy a better player than him to replace him. The good thing of the build-up guide is that everything is organized. If a player leaves, you already know what position to hire. Simplicity is beautiful :) 5. Improving the team This will depend on your success. Getting good classifications will give you more money, and attract more sponsors. The initial build-up requirements will change. For example, instead of just 2 good strikers for starters, you can already afford having 3 or 4 equally goo options and sell the decent ones who were only good as subs :) Conclusion With this simple advices, you should be able to balance your accounts and sport results. This way, even if your sport results don't get you into high places, at least you don't compromise the club accounts. This way is also a good one to improving your team through time. You just need some patience and work That's all folks If anyone wants to add anything, be free to do it :) Cheers |
