i've seen a player ask for lower wages in return for a longer contract (usually aging, long-serving players), but certainly not 90 pounds per week hahaha
LOL, First time I've seen a footballer want a wage cut
Edit: DAMMIT, he rejected it, so i had to give him 70,000 p/w

Yeah that happend to me too me yesterday, Giles Barnes wanted like 90 p/w also but rejected and I had to offer him something way more then he currently had. Very strange.
Current FM10 game:

Championship Winner - 4th season
FA Cup finals - 4th season
FA Cup Winner - 5th season
It's just a glitch, basically when it happens you have to guess what they really want. They never accept that. It's annoying I always used to be like 'get in wage cut', but they'd just reject :(
Thank you Berry for the Signature.
Yeah that happens to me all the time, it's just a small bug.
Thanks heaps Angel-SVK for the sig!
A very small yet highly irritating bug... Hopefully SI sort it out for the next FM
Many thanks go to Viney for the sig
"You cannot coach a professional only guide them" - Kevin Schmidt
"It is not the size of a man but the size of his heart that matters." -Evander Holyfield
"Fail to prepare, prepare to fail." - Roy Keane
really, all the time? I've played quite a few hours on FM and have never gotten that glitch
it doesn't happen all the time but when it does its very annoying

Yer i agree, I was like sick I'm gonna save a crap load of money, but then no
Happened to me a few times as well thought i was onto a winner till it was rejected
its happened a lot of the time to me in FM09, but the player never accepts it, im affraid the only way to cut a wage is to do the 10% loss each time :)
will take you a long time though to get to £90 hahah :D
Yup, best way if you are low league and want to keep your wage going for awhile. But then again it's slightly cheating...how many players who earn 100k a week willing to cut their wage down to about 10k? Even the thickest footballer would realise - "Hang on a sec, I'm being offered less and less!"
