It takes me quite a while on my pc (which is 1.5mb of ram) about 6-7 hours a season if i play for that long at a time. Would really like to get an idea of what spec of ram etc would make it quicker. Wot spec is your pc and how long does it take you to do a season. | | | | | 16-07-08, 04:23 PM | #2 (permalink) | | What Fed can do with a grape, I can't do with a beach ball! Usually though it takes around 6 hours. | | | | 16-07-08, 04:44 PM | #3 (permalink) | | Important First Team Player Join Date: Jun 2008 Posts: 774 Thanks: 168 Thanked 156 Times in 154 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | I have got a really fast computer but I have never done a season uninterrupted. However, on my Newcastle game I am in November 2008 and I have played 23 hours 19 mins :O lol But sometimes I leave football Manager on when I go on the xbox :) | | | | 16-07-08, 06:25 PM | #4 (permalink) | | Hot Prospect Join Date: Jul 2008 Posts: 89 Thanks: 17 Thanked 5 Times in 5 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | About 7 hours maybe. But surely it'd depend on how hands-on you are. Just pressing continue all the way through would I'd imagine get a season done in about 2/3 hours or so. Whereas adjusting training in response to injuries, checking player's form and interacting with them, scouting transfer targets, answering press Qs etc. will obviously push up the time it takes. Anyway, I haven't got FM installed on this PC yet, since it only arrived on Monday. But the old one, had 1 gig of ram IIRC, and I think a 2.2Ghz processor, but don't quote me on the latter. On a slightly related note: I see in Vista you can use external memory to boost performance speed. Does anyone know if that works the same way as the RAM? My new PC has 2 GB RAM, which I was gonna upgrade to 3 this weekend or next, but if I could just reserve space on my External HD for that, I'll save the cash. | | | | | 17-07-08, 12:17 PM | #5 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Glasgow Posts: 164 Thanks: 30 Thanked 3 Times in 3 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | It usually takes me about 2 hours just to get through pre-season, the whole season takes about upto 12 hours sometimes. And i have a fast computer (2gb Ram + 2.3ghz dual core). | | | | | 17-07-08, 02:00 PM | #6 (permalink) | | Important First Team Player Join Date: Feb 2008 Posts: 508 Thanks: 45 Thanked 32 Times in 27 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | at my computer(512 ram 1,5 ghz ) it take about 7 hours.but i select small database and only one league | | | | 17-07-08, 02:29 PM | #7 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 3 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | it usually takes me about20 hours game time to do one season i obviously put a lot more thought into it... | | | | | 17-07-08, 02:34 PM | #8 (permalink) | | FMF's Toon Army Spiderman and member of the Writers Crew Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: wiltshire Posts: 2,491 Thanks: 309 Thanked 635 Times in 607 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Id say 20 hours on average, and thats on a med Db with only a couple of leagues and few players loaded. | Signature-Care of Ru Top FMF GFX Artist Current game Tottenham Hotspur 2007- Follow it here! | | | 17-07-08, 03:15 PM | #9 (permalink) | | Blackpool FC Supporter and 19th Member on the Site Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: Blackpool Posts: 1,929 Thanks: 113 Thanked 214 Times in 184 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | hmm i may time mine, ive never actually noticed how long i do a season | | | | 17-07-08, 06:10 PM | #10 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Oct 2006 Posts: 240 Thanks: 8 Thanked 14 Times in 11 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Usually 15 hours but thats interupted cos I never play for more than 3 hrs at a time really | | | | | 17-07-08, 06:15 PM | #11 (permalink) | | I'm The FMF Accountant - How Can I Help You?
