I've been playing as Derby County and am just going into the 09 summer transfer window. In my first season I won the FA Cup and therefore qualified for the UEFA cup.
I found upon registering players that it was a struggle to fill the 4 homegrown player slots, although it was slightly easier to fill the English trained slots. I had to stick a bunch of reserves in my UEFA squad that I would never even think about playing because I think there was only Barnes and perhaps one other in my team that counted as HG.
As you can imagine this did me no favours when it came to picking my match day squads as the quality available to me was limited by being forced to register reserves.

Basically I was wondering if any of you know of any decent players that started there careers at Derby County and would therefore be classed as one of my four home grown players if I signed them?
I wracked my brain and couldn't think of any but I'm not exactly knowledgable on the history of Derby.

‘Home-grown players’ are defined by UEFA as players who, regardless of their
nationality or age, have been trained by their club or by another club in the national
association for at least three years between the age of 15 and 21.
so in other words go finding some youngsters with good potential and then after 3 years they will become home grown players

Chris Riggott and Dean Sturridge?? you'll have to investigate, the only one i'm 100% on is Lee Camp, but I'm quite sure over the others.

true it dont help right now but i dont think buyin in old derby players will do much helping as there aint any decent ones he might aswell use some reserve players of under 18's as just to fill the bench and fill those spots out of wot 21 u can name atleast 4 have to be home grown that leaves 17 players no if im not correct thats a full 11 and 6 subs before he even has to use one of the players thats just to fill numbers

Thank you both for your help. I have already signed a few youngsters that will hopefully come good and fill those spots for me in 2/3 seasons time, but as I originally wasn't planning on continuing the game for more than 1 season I issed out on some bargains at the beginning.
I do realise I have enough spots to fill the first 11 and 6 sub places, it just when I had a bit of an injury crisis I was screwed really.
I'll take a look at the players you mentioned FluentInFootball, Huddlestone is probably the only one worth buying but the others could be ok for backup.
