Ok guys most of you know that I've been managing Accrington for some time now. You probably know that I am currently in the premiership. I have noticed that this happens almost all the time!

• In the last 5 minutes of a league match, the opposition scores once or twice to give them a draw or a win. After 20+ matches I still don't have a clean sheet, though my defence is pretty good
• All these goals come from defensive lapses. Missed interceptions, penalties, defenders giving the ball away, defence going up unnecesarily despite leading etc.
• I have tried many tactics - my own, Fed's supremo v1 and 3-4-3, Wozza's Widge, Capitano Demolition Home, Away and v4, yet this still happens
• I have found that one player, Rudolph Austin, is especially prone to giving away penalties. Yet he has good tackling, decision and aggression attributes. Take him out and the penalties stop, but the rest continue
• In the first round of cup competitions, it is always 0-0 after both legs and extra time, despite me controlling the majority of the game and easily having 3 or 4 times as many chances as the opposition
• I have scored the 2nd most goals in the league (44, which is second to Arsenal's 46), yet I am 19th because I've conceded about 60!
• The shots I take are either saved by a somehow magnificent goalie (remember these are League 2/Conference teams) or take a deflection right on the line and go for a corner. The corner trick doesn't work either, even though it works in my other games
• The penalty shootouts are surely bugged. One keeper suddenly become amazing at saving them and/or the penalty-takers just miss. In the second instance of this (FA Cup), I was playing Morecambe from the Conference. Just before my first three penalty-takers stepped up, the commentary would say The referee waves away his protests and they would all balloon the shots wide or high or both

I know it might seem that I sound like a sore loser, but every single game, no matter how well I play, I concede so many goals. Even if i score 3, they scored between 3 and 5.

It does sound wierd, had a similar problem, i drew ever single game in a season, because I let in last minuite goals, and every goal came in the 89th minute and were from set-plays. Mine cleared up though after the next season began.

That seemed to happen to me quite a lot on my Bedford game for the past couple of seasons. I score tons but they always score more and always late on.

looks like this happens a lot to lower league teams, but not upper league teams.

yeah this happens with me aswell mate,
it could be the fitness of your squad or their concentration stats i have no idea mate..
hopefully fm09 will sort this little bug out mate.

Hmm id say it is a minor bug. But as you said, you fixed the penatly issue when you took that particular player off. Have you tried a differnet defence? And if you have a good defence as you say, whats the keepers concentration? He could be the one to fault. Anyway, i hope 09 sorts this out...if there is anything to sort out that is. Its never happened to me before. What patch are you on?

the game started on 800 but im on 802 now. the keeper has been brilliant (ricardo) the whole season, saving a lot. his and the rest of the defence's concentration is good too
even with a couple of new defenders it doesnt seem to work

Yeah except Im managing Birmingham in the Prem 09-10 season with the same problem as Ap. I got a good back four yet for some reason I just cant keep any clean sheets and I dont know what Im doing wrong. All the goals I concede seem to fall into two categories

a) Straight after halftime (No amount of tinkering or adjusting teamtalk seems to improve this

b) In the last 7-8 Minutes, the worst so far from winning 4-1 with just 8 minutes left to drawing 4-4 with derby (?????!)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as im tearing my hair out!!!

so... maybe it's english league bug? it never happened when i'm playing as juve...

but i did manage wolves (well, just for a few weeks thou xD)

actually, in FM, a comeback is very easy to happen, either for you, or for your opponent... that happened a lot, but never make me lose the match thou (just a bore draw)...

exactly harty im gonna try reinstalling but the last time i did that i lost my saved games and the patch wouldnt work :|
and i think the defensive problem was there last season too for me. i remember conceding 80+ goals but scoring something like 150. i think one game it was 8-5 that i won and lauri dalla valle got a hat-trick in the last 10 minutes

I had the same problem on 8.0 but seems to be ok on 8.0.2

guys I just thought, how many of you play attacking football, cos I do and that might be why. I play attcking football and it seems to cost me but recently in the last 10 min if i'm up I go defensive and I don't let in as many goals (well sort of).

i always conceed late on IF im away, i see out matches at home but conceed when im away, even more so if im chasing a lead

i had these problems too, in 8.0.2 that is, but not often. this happened to me as well, i was 4-2 down and in the last 10-6 minutes huntelaar scored 2 more goals against mu, astonishingly, the last goal was 25 yards out where it hit the post and went in, amazing, but weird. 2 goals in around 8 minutes isnt very normal and that made a hatrick for him. one big problem in fm is over-scoring. rooney scored 38, huntelaar scored 39, i mean, wth? you dont often get this much, last year's (not ronaldo's) was totti and it didnt even come very close to 40 :(
