I've read in the past that signing lots of players can disrupt your team. This would make sense if you bought 5 new first team players, thus totally changing your lineup, but what about if you're just scouring the world for the young talent and chucking them in your U18 / reserve teams? Does this still disrupt things? And if you do get disruption, e.g. from buying a few new players in January to spruce things up, how long does it last and how can you minimise it? | | | | | 16-06-08, 03:06 PM | #2 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: May 2008 Location: Halifax, NS Posts: 104 Thanks: 26 Thanked 13 Times in 13 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Im not sure on a number (But I know that somewhere there is one) but too many signings definitely disrupts how thins work. Especially if you start signing players in other players positions. . they will get unsettled and thats never good. If its buying to fix things up (Instead of half the squad), it shouldn't really affect it, although they need time to gel :) | Check out my current game HERE and see my wonderful Braintree! | | | 16-06-08, 07:30 PM | #3 (permalink) | | I'm The FMF Accountant - How Can I Help You? It does take time for them to mix, and also depending on what country they are from. If you put players in U18 and reserves, then it doesn't really matter, but slowly introduce them to first team football if they have potential. If you sign new signings, i tend to just leave them on the bench for 1 game, then give them a full game debut. | Current Game: None until Fm09 comes out | | | 16-06-08, 10:29 PM | #4 (permalink) | | What Bozza can do with an orange, I can do with a grape! Everyone knows that if you bring in too many players at once, you'll upset the balance of the team, like Fed said. But, I don't believe only a few signings would disrupt your team. Certain players like Joey Barton (who when I've signed, the fans have kicked up a stink saying that he'll disrupt the team) may do the job by themselves though. | | | | 24-06-08, 04:15 PM | #9 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 16 Thanks: 0 Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | I have found that sometimes just one signing can disrupt a team even if they are not a disruptive player - e.g. when at Arsenal I signed another DM as backup for Gilberto, thus upsetting denilson and Diaby who presumably fancied themselves for a run in the team. "too much competition" apparently. I've no idea if players being unhappy about that sort of thing impacts how well your team plays though | | | | | 24-06-08, 04:30 PM | #10 (permalink) | | Scout For FMF's DB Update Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Mississauga, near Toronto Posts: 2,076 Thanks: 351 Thanked 311 Times in 253 Posts Nominated 17 Times in 3 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 1 | yeah, personality matters and if youre getting a lot of players in one position, tell the guy you dont like that you dont want him anymore | Thanks to Spanish for the userbars :) If you would like me to make you a sig, click on mine! | | | 24-06-08, 06:47 PM | #11 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Swansea Posts: 235 Thanks: 43 Thanked 31 Times in 31 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | I have never ever disrupted my team and i have signed about 15 players in one window with Solihull Moors | | | | 24-06-08, 07:27 PM | #12 (permalink) | | FMF's Toon Army Spiderman and member of the Writers Crew Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: wiltshire Posts: 2,479 Thanks: 308 Thanked 633 Times in 605 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | I had no problems with signing about 8 or 9 players for my Ajax team. They just slotted in and gelled with the existing players. However at Birmingham just signing Danny haynes upset my ST's Gary McSheffrey, Garry O'Connor and Pierre Achille Webo. And they were right to be upset as he cemented an AMC/ST partnership with another new signing Anthony Le Tallec from liverpool with 6 goals in 5 games between them! | Signature-Care of Ru Top FMF GFX Artist Current game Tottenham Hotspur 2007- Follow it here! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | | All times are GMT.
