No not if he has not got a club probally going to get a proper job or open a resturant somewhere.

alot of players do that when they cant find a club to sign sometimes u can miss out on some real talent because of that but it happens in real life so adds to the realism |

this happens sometimes, when players are without clubs for a prolonged period of time they retire. |

in every country at the start of the new season there are generated some regens players.after around 6 months, if they havent any contract at any club they decide to retire.this is specially annoyng when you are at a lower english club with no feder club for avoid work permit.i found a lot of great youngsters but there where non-EU and i couldn sign them:( |

at fm08 they dont retire becouse of injury.only the old players.i had a player ao age 34 and he was a coach too.at the training he broke his foot and then he retired instantly.but for youngster players i never see one to retired becouse of injury |
