Default 8.02 bug

Ive mentioned it before but now im getting severely p**sed off with what I see as a bug on 8.02. I need to update because I play in SPL and there is a bug with the fixtures in 8.0

In 8.02 I conceed late goals no matter what I do. I'll dominate matches against inferior opponents but I always conceed later on no matter what I do. If im 2 up they will score 2 in last few minutes. Ive even has comebacks from being 3 up in dying minutes.

No matter what I do this happens. Surely somesort of bug as it never happened to me in 8.0?

What can I do as its becoming very frustrating?

it happened also to me...
but i am playing 8.00 patch...

at first, i thought it is a bug,, but after i changed my tactic when i was leading...
my opponents don't score any late goals no more...

but honestly i don't know in patch 8.02,,,

did you change your tactic when you were in leading position?...maybe it helps...

=)

usually the opponents will change their tactics in the last couple minutes, usually the change to 4-2-4 and change the morale to attack, in some case You also needs to change the tactic. just slide the morale little bit defensive, but the still normal (just put little below normal) and reduce the level of closing down to below the middle position. and thick the counter attack. it works for me.

thanks guys. I usually go to a counter attack in later stages of a match though and still no success. I'll keep experimenting with tactics

I usually find the best approach to be the following.

Leave your mentality and defensive line settings as they are, but tick counter-attack if desired.

Drop the forward runs, run with ball of your full-backs to mixed or rarely. If they're set to short passing, go mixed or direct for them.

In the opposition instructions, remove any closing down on wingers and change to tight marking "always". Back in the player instructions screens, set your full-backs to tight marking, even if you prefer zonal to man marking.

In your team instructions screen, raise time wasting to the maximum (last ten to fifteen minutes of the game), if not already set, play no higher than 5 clicks from the left on the sliders for passing (short) and tempo (slow).

Strange as it sounds, I often find through this approach, I score more late goals than my "gung-ho" opponents.

What I believe to be happening is that because at this stage, the AI has thrown caution to the wind, they're leaving more space open that your team can exploit. Through my settings, I'll find that my teams soak up the pressure and then make more considered attacks when the opportunity is on. Because they only go for good attacking opportunities at this stage, they generally score from them.

Having low passing, tempo, but high timewasting, you'll find your team controls the ball and keeps possession. If your opponents can's get the ball, they can't score goals.

Now even Cristiano Ronaldo can't do that!!

great post heath, and i have rarely seen a game having a team with score nil nowadays, even lower teams such as shaktar get to score, i also get a 7-1 win over sunderland when i was leading 5-0 and irl, sunderland wouldn't even be able to get a chance from the low morale due to going 5 goals down

but wot u have to find is that the AI will go to a 4-2-4 all out attackin formation and if your formation is not set up right it will crumble your defence
u will be surprised how early the ai will consider using this tactic ive seen it used in 8th minute after the ai goin 2-0 down only by half time usin this tactic that they are 3-2 up due to that persons defence crumbling over the added pressure

alot of people just use one tactic for everythin u cant do that in fm anymore u need different tactics to counter wot the ai does in game at times in order to keep that 1-0 or 2-0 lead

one of the most effective ways ive found of stoppin the 4-2-4 formation is a 5 man midfield since they only have 2 in midfield this can overwhelm them and end up not being able to pass to their front 4

thanks to Josh for makin this awesome sig!
