Okay, something here really bugs me about the game... Opposition goalkeepers seem to gain super human reflexes and legendary goalkeeping abilities in every match I have played. Even teams that concede like 15 goals in 4 games seems to have the best goalkeeper around when I'm playing againts them. They parry almost every shot, always poised to catch the ball during corners, I mean come on... seriously. Has anyone experienced this?

yes it happens now and then, the keeper will have a fantastic game and stop everything, but if its happening every game it may be a bug, are you on the latest 8.02 update, patch?

nope, still on 8.0.0
just lazy to update really, but probably will update soon if it turns out to be a bug.

i have the same problem.i thinlk is all about the luck is not a bug.

What annoys me is on 8.02 the amount of goals scored/conceed is alot more. and I always conceed or score late goals which is very annoying, fine when i score them though haha. Ive heard im not alone on this. Its rare to get a 0-0 on 8.02 patch.

it is rare, but its all down to tactics, if its 0-0 last 10 minutes and you are happy with a draw change tactic. as if you dont change tactic at some point in the match almost certainly will conced a goal in dying minutes.

Im on 8.0.0 but every now and again I come up against a super human keeper. Just the way the game is mate I think tbh, like in real life David James always has a cracker against us!!!!

I think it may have been a bug on 8.0.0 as I had that problem alot but after updating it happened less and most of the time it was to do with me tactics.

I'd advise you to update mate.

just reduce the long range shot. try the through pass and let the striker or target man finish it.

it is happened sometime that that particular goalkeeper will be in top form..but to play much more better about FM better u update the patch..but if u have problem with tactics try this one..it is special FMFormation.net - Football Manager - FM2008 - Downloads - Special Wingback Attack tactics

Well, that seems to be the problem really. Even shots within the 6 yard box has been saved about 70% of the time.

Like for instance, my team had 28 shots and 18 were on target. But we only managed to score 1. The opposition keeper again was MoM.

To respond to the original post:

I really think there is some kind of elastic band going on in the past FM's. It's not that hard to be the better team but for some reason, FM is always trying to compensate it. I especially noticed it with Barcelona. 30 shots of which 10-20 were on goal was a normal thing but I managed to only score 1 out of 5 major chances. And with major chances I mean that you are already celebrating that you are going to score hehe.

However, when you have a game with so many chances, the opponent always manages to score every single chance they get. I can't remember how many matches I've had when I had 30 shots and scored 1 and the opponent ended to match with 1 shot, 1 on goal and it finished in a 1-1 draw. I think SI made sure cheat tactics aren't possible anymore by putting things like this in FM. When you score a lot of or enormous amount of chances, FM just makes sure that the opponent scores the chances they get. Otherwise it would be too easy.

So my conclusion: The more often the opponent gets 1 shot on goal and scores 1, the better your tactic must be hehe.
