Default Computer specs?

Hey I am seriously considering to buy a new Gaming PC & FM always seems to be at the top of the list of games that I want to play. I have been surveying alot and have came up with this..

Specs :

* Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.40Ghz, 8MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
* GIGABYTE X28 - DS5 (Intel X38)
* PALIT 9600GT 512mb DDR3 Graphic
* 2GB Corsair XMS2 DDR800, LAN

It's at a pretty reasonable price but honestly I don't really know much about computers. So to anyone who actually has a computer that plays FM perfectly please post your computer specs.

P.S. And by perfectly I mean that it loads almost instantly and the processing is fast.

I have a PC which has Dual Core (2.33Ghz) and 2Gb RAM and my FM runs like a dream and processing is almost instant, so i would imagine the PC you plan to get would have no problem running it.

Mine is the same as above. You can buy computers specifically to running games like this. You could try finding a custom build place.

Damnz, Intel Quad Core. I can only dream of that. Dual Core is already amazingly fast and that processor is using 2 cores (processors). Quad Core is using 4 (!!!). Together with 2GB DDRII RAM, it should run like a ferrari. DDRII is really cheap so you could always buy 1 or 2 GB more (2GB for 25/35 pounds or something like that). Graphical card isn't that important for FM, processor and memory are the most important and those are immense!

I just bought my new box off ebay, dell have an outlet store that sells pc's that have slight scratches etc. on the case or have been refurbished!

I bought mine for 200euro including delivery and charges, about 160sterling! I then upgraded it through ebay, i now have...

Dual Core 2ghz processor
4gb DDR2 ram
512mb nvidia 8600gt graphics

Thats the main things really, i'll upgrade the processor soon enough but she already plays fm brilliant, huge improvement over my last system. It also plays Assassins creed and call of duty 4 no problem at all.

Not bad for about 400euro all in

I would rather buy a new computer because even though just upgrading my ram would sound like a much more cheaper way but honestly my current computer's processor is too slow, so just upgrading the ram wouldn't be of much help. No I'm not planning on running vista on this new computer well because I generally prefer XP to Vista.

Thanks for the feedbacks people!

i'm not talking about upgrading u'r old computer but what i said is to add some more RAM on spec that u'r given in here..just like Bozza said..my advise,better u use Vista for new computer where there are lot of driver conflict regarding new computer hardware..btw,the Microsoft will stop his on line help and all sort of thing about XP..u will find more trouble in future if u using XP..for u information i use 2G RAM on my machine and looking to add some more..
