I know its only a game but I don't want to sell my favourite players so by going my favourite club I don't get to stamp my own style on the club so I think its better just to go a random team. Later on you might get the chance to move to the team you support later in the game. Personally I like starting at smaller clubs. They'll have more patience with you too. | | | | 28-04-08, 06:35 PM | #8 (permalink) | | Used In Squad Rotation Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Sheffield Posts: 268 Thanks: 60 Thanked 28 Times in 28 Posts | I agree with Alan, lower league clubs are the best and it makes the game more enjoyable. You have alot more to aim for as a low league manager but if you manage barca or man u, its win prem and Champ league and its all been done, but to build a club from nothing and make them even half decent is so good. Plus you get things you never have in big clubs. 1. Cup runs - When you are expected to get to FA cup 3rd Qual but reach 2nd round you get a real buzz and you feel like you have acheved. If your Man u and the board get pissed if you don't win the FA Cup, you don't get the same buzz. 2. Super signings - When in lower leagues you can find good cheap players and regen players that become great players in the future and you sell them on for huge amounts. With Big teams you can buy nearly any player you want for as much as you want and can afford to make a loss when selling them on. 3. Skill - If you manage a small club it takes more skill, you can't make financial mistakes unlike big clubs and although pressure is on alot more in Big teams, small clubs have things expected from them that are harder to reach due to the clubs financial position and rep. With a limit of free players and money to pay fo wages, it takes alot more than just putting a team of 11 players and winning every match, you have to use scout reports more and use tactics to win games. You should start as a middle prem club and when you are world class then move to lower leagues for the best gaming experience ever. don't forget to hit thanks | Current Game 1 Sheffield FC The World Oldest Football Club Read my career as manager of the oldest club in the world. can I make the the best aswell. | | | 29-04-08, 05:12 AM | #9 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 9 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | try to pick your favorite club, the advantage is you know the team pretty well so it will easier for you to manage. And I also agree with the opinion that said if you want to enjoy the game just pick the club from the lowest league (semi professional club usually), i believe you will experience the art of become a football manager in this game. | | | | | 30-04-08, 10:45 AM | #10 (permalink) | | Used In Squad Rotation Join Date: Feb 2008 Posts: 333 Thanks: 26 Thanked 25 Times in 21 Posts | thats true its more enjoiable to play with lower clubs couse there are more things that you cand do.but firs time to see how the game is i advice to pick a better team | | | | 30-04-08, 11:02 AM | #11 (permalink) | | Used In Squad Rotation Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Sunderland Posts: 484 Thanks: 6 Thanked 24 Times in 15 Posts | I ALWAYS go Sunderland - This year by 2013 I had won everything and was ranked #1 in the world. Big English team - Man Utd, This was a network Game Low English Team - Leeds, got to prem, Barnsley, also prem Spanish Team - Barcelona, got very boring after 2 season unbeaten Other - random - Laval, Everton/Man Utd/everton/chelsea/sunderland - one network game (was never sacked) | | | | 01-05-08, 12:11 PM | #12 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Mar 2008 Posts: 2 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | Man city- my 6th season and getting closer and closer to a epl title | | | | | 02-05-08, 03:24 AM | #13 (permalink) | | Used In Squad Rotation Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: perak, malaysia Posts: 325 Thanks: 11 Thanked 22 Times in 19 Posts | try play a bigger club for 1st time play this game..then,when u understand how the game work choose u'r favorite team..it must be fun..anyways,enjoy FMming =P | Truthful, Rimza "The South East Dragon" | | | 02-05-08, 11:04 PM | #14 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Mar 2008 Posts: 132 Thanks: 18 Thanked 24 Times in 24 Posts | a big team is good for a start.to get to know the game and stuff.after that a mid team is a good choice for a slight challenge.no need to rush into lower league challenges so soon... | Toumba...Don't you just love it?
