To go back to someone's post earlier on in the thread about players getting killed etc.

It does actually happen due to medical conditions (Look at Marc-Vivien Foe and Miklos Feher amongst others) - and tragic accidents (Jimmy Davies, ex-Manchester United) and Players receiving horrific, career ending injuries (Alf-Inge Haaland and David Busst to name a couple more) Now I know its a bit morbid but it does happen. Just felt the need to clear that one up a bit. My apologies if someone else has responded but I was too lazy to sift through at work.

Trying to list good idea's now:-

1 - Surprises - I would like surprises and shocks in the game, you know? I would like to see Frank Lampard involved in a freak golfing accident pulling a shoulder muscle which keeps him out for a few weeks and coming down with mystery illnesses (like malaria post-african games) etc - I'd like to add that sort of realism to the game where a player will die due to a mystery illness (make it random mind - don't just kill JT for the crack of it) and make it that these players are insured too so if say John Terry died in a car accident in the second season and he was valued at £20m you get say £10-15m from the insurers upon his death, same as if he was injured so bad his career ended you would receive £10m from insurers (call it half of the players value in insurance pay-out) Also, maybe add to that too the occassional Eric Cantona drop-kick or Paolo Di Canio push on the ref and more Adrian Mutu bans and sackings (don't make it an automatic sacking, leave it down to the manager/chairman - add a new rating value of 'integrity' to see if they'd sack them anyway etc.

SI will never introduce dieing into FM.

I think big bans have been included in past versions. I remember reading one player got a large match suspension, but nothing like Di Canio or Cantana.

I would like to be informed of when a player I have on my shortlist gets put on the transfer list, you already get reports of when other teams make a bid so why cant you be told when they are availabe for transfer?

i dont think the internationals should take so long to process,, i mean when there are two players on the game i find it takes ages,,, i wouldnt mind so much but neither of us are international managers...

I don't agree, I think players dying should be introduced, at the end of the day it happens! Marc-Vivien Foe, Miklos Feher, The Busby Babes...Yes, they don't happen often. But the occassional random freak accident and career ender would add a depth of realism never seen before. Its an issue people have had to work around

Yea but think about it this way, You playing in the Champions League Final, you have your squad ready to win, its your year, then you get a message in your inbox.

A horrible plain crash has killed 9 players from ****** FC and left others injured, This is a sad day only 3 days before the final...

How pissed off are you going to be if you have to play a youth team because every first team player dies. You'd be pissed off if 1 died, let alone all of them.

I understand where your coming from and the concerns but, people moan they want it more realistic, more realism - is it not realistic that it CAN happen? Think about it. would you really complain after guiding Darlington from League Two obscurity to a Champions League Final against a far superior Barcelona team that a couple weeks before the game half the Barcelona team is wiped out in a freak pinball accident?? I wouldn't - these things can happen. Ok maybe not add in "Disasters" but add heart conditions, car accidents so individual players can get randomly wiped off the game. Yes, annoying when its your star striker but it happens

I still think its a bad Idea, now you could have Career ending injuries which would be similar to deaths because they would be wiped off the game, but some could paooibley come back as coaches, scouts etc.

If you want realism, then yes. If you just want to have a happy playing, then no. Maybe SI would look into adding outside fights lol

In response to the last post about "Happy Playing" - Thats what I was on about the Insurance thing for in previous posts.

Player X is worth £15m when he is injured and his career ended.

Team X claims insurance on Player X's injuries. Player X's value was £15m at the time of his unfortunate injury. Insurance Firm Y indicate that his value wasn't likely to rise much as Player X was 28 years old so they pay out insurance at 75% of his value - say for arguments sake its £10m - Thats £10m into your bank account for transfers. Just a thought but would be good to see this level of realism. Some would see it as extreme, some would see it as in-depth. Maybe add it in as an option in the preferences tab under extra files.

Thinking of other little things to add in to future FM games.

2 - Set piece plays

On various consoles there is a game, Madden NFL, that allows you to choose certain set-plays. I'd like to see it introduced to FM so we can choose a set play or maybe a type of free kick (Beckham, Zidane, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos styles etc)

Same for Corners - I'd like to be able to choose things like a preset "Beckham and Scholes" style corner etc. Just a thought and not sure how hard it would be to implement

I think the dying thing is a good idea, its not gonna appeal to everyone but have an option so you can choose if you want it in your game, just like the attribute masking! It gives gamers there own choice whether or not to use the feature.

I like NJT1986 suggestion of the set plays, it again gives more options and gives variation to the match so you dont always score the same goals all the time.

The should also be testimonials available for players that do last 10 years at a club, even tho it would be rare.

How about nutrionists and sports psychologists being available to bring into the club, this again would make it more realisic

first, if you played horribly against a bad team (e.g losing 2-0 to sunderland home with tottenham hotspur), of course you get mad

sort of, and then you will turn to the fmf/si forums and whine/tell us about the 'f-ing unfair' experience you've gone through

fm is already a game that involves lots of emotions, why would they evoke more and more by making someone die.

for me, if someone dies, i just load an older save game where the player hasnt died yet.

i think they should make the reporters shut the h up.

since then i've rarely given a looked at or interested except for the really important players

interactions between the chairman, player and media would be nice

holding a meeting with the team would also be nice, like telling them their role (sometimes when i play them as AMR (originally AMC) and i bought an AMC, he was concerned), etc

i would also like a tactic where they change their tactics regulary like what the coach says.

take scolari for example, the match against wigan, their width was made by their side backs, they overlapped and made it almost like a 3-5-2 (essien at the back for some reason because of his work rate i guess).

and arsenal, wenger often changes where their midfield will go, i wish that we can set them to automatically go where at what time, what condition, etc.

You already can - at least using the editor. Back to the topic about death, I would smash my PC if somethign like this happened.

Eastleigh's key player Paulo Rangel has been killed in a car crash, days before the cruicial match againest Manchester United, which will decide who will in the league....

lol I suppose you could have a tick box but death is highly unlikely.
