Useless Feeder Club choices - FMFormation.net - Football Manager

Does anyone know how to have a say in the country your board might suggest feeder clubs from? Am getting fed up of them coming back with suggestions such as Irish clubs (passable) obscure French clubs (no-one wants to go there) and African clubs....(is the marketing potential in Botswana really worth tapping into that much?).....has anyone sucessfully negotiated an EU Work permit convenient one?

these arent useless, as many teams irl have irish feeder clubs, african clubs etc ;)

i have indeed got a feeder club from belgium that helps with work permits, after a while the board will ask you to choose what kind you want ;)

I do have to agree that I think SI should expand this feature. It's a great feature, having feeder clubs, but applying for one has not enough options in my eyes. The board should ask you what your plans are with the feeder club when you apply for one. This way you can say that it is to loan out players for them to get a EU-nationality. Or a feeder club for the merchandizing. Or one to get used to the country and the way clubs play in here.

For my Milan game, I was given the option to suggest what kind of feeder club the board should look for;

Any Club
Commercial Link
Loan

I think it's due to my clubs healthy financial status I guess.

yeah,in my game,on season 2,u can choice ur type of feeder club
but i hate,if my club offering me mexican or conference club:S.

I got MTZ-ripo and alloa athletic and there are no players worth taking off either club, and none of mine will go out on loan

I have saw a few ss's of the board asking the manager what kind of club he wants. And there is a drop down menu for you to choose. I think this only happens when the board really trust you.

Man that is spot on, couldnt agree more. it should be developed for future games

You will eventually get to choose which kind of feeder club you'd like. I don't know what's the precise conditions for this to happen, maybe after a set period of time? Or perhaps after great success with the club? In my Arsenal game, it started at the beginning of the 3rd season.

I've always pick the "commercial link" option :P yes, it generates lots of cash. i don't know if the other options are any good, i never loan my players to feeder clubs. Has anyone ever put that option to good use?

Haha, so what I really want to see in FM is already there? That's just brilliant. But I would like to see more of it, also from the start of the game. If you start with Liverpool and need a club in Belgium to send youngsters to who have no work permit, you should have that option in the first season because you're a big club and it's very active now in real life that clubs in England buy players who don't get a work permit but the clubs buy them anyways because they have feeder clubs in e.a. Belgium.

Today in Holland at Utrecht when I requested a feeder club, because I have many youngsters, I received a club from Macedonia

you will get the choice with the more experience you have at teh club
for example ive played all of fm2008 at accrington, and though im still in my 4th season, ive had the choice since mid-second season
when you ask for a feeder club, the board says: Because of you long-term involvement and success at the club, the board has decided to give you an option on which kind of feeder club you would like...

i think it isnt necessarily based on number of seasons but the number of hours/days you are in the game (which determined the status in the game status screen, like call for pizza, remember to eat, sleep is for the weak etc.), and how successful you are

good luck, but they should have a better system so you dont get useless teams. for example, if you have no african or asian countries loaded, whats the point of getting a feeder club from there?
