I have struggled a lot with FM08, mostly because I cant seem to sell any players, and my squad becomes really week. I have to spend A LOT more than the stated price for any player, and computers wont bother buying any players from me? What are some ways to get my players sold? Like for example, I was reading some descriptions and looking at some pictures of other people's games, and they have (arsenal) sold Diaby for 15m, Eduardo for 23m, Rosicky for 27m! How does this even work? None of the players I have have (wnt) beside them, and if they do, they are ones I dont want to sell! Help?

try this : first offer the player to clubs with a higher price than its value (if is 7.5 mil offer him for 10mil). the interested clubs will offer then a price around the value of player. if not put the player on transfer list and change transfer status to not needed . and offer again for the price you want. if not , slow down the price. for me it allways work

when you see the "wanted" icon next to his name, offer him to clubs (don't specify any particular one) for a price you find reasonable. If the guy doesn't want to part with your team, modify his transfer status to transfer listed, available on loan and not needed by the club. Then send him to the reserves team. The combination of all 4 will piss him off and make him want to move away.

If you don't see the wanted icon, just offer him to clubs the same way, but asking for a lower price. 1 or 2 clubs may respoond.

A player will become wanted if his potential is high, if the guy attracts major clubs you may not want to sell him as he may develop into a real jewel in a few seasons.

I however think you can succeed with any team, no matter how bad the playesr are. What you need is a good training schedule and good coaches, along with an effective game tactic. I would try 4-1-2-1-2 or 4-1-2-2-1. Don't expect immediate results, the first season is just to get them used to you and your new approach, in the second you will start getting some noticeable results and in the 3rd one you'll start shining. One more thing, do your best not to lose your main players, no matter how much other clubs are offering for them. A good way to prevent losing them is to offer new contracts to players in the last year of contract. Give them the maximum 5 years deal to keep them safe in your pocket.

ionutd is right dont sell important players.
sell the backup and with money buy some wonderkids at lower prices. ater 1-2 years you will have a great team

yea I understand that. I do however, have trouble locating enough funds to get what I need. My Arsenal squad just lost 6-2 to Chelsea, and had to go through a 7-6 2 legged game against Fenebache to make champions league. I wanted to buy silva, as my team lacks a LAM, but his team demanded 60m +, and I dont have that kind of money. Adebayor only fetched 12 million from AC, and Gallas was worth 8. I saw someone buy Silva for 32mil, so how does this work? Im desperate here. Also, someone mentioned they signed Dos Santos, which is reallly annoying me, as he will not come to Arsenal at all! No matter what I offer him... Barcelona agrees to the deal, but Dos Santos is not interested at all! Help>?

just because someone asks for 60m doesnt mean that you have to pay them that
reduce your bid and try future sale clauses

Also, every year, players start entering their last year with contracts. Starting from the 1st of December, you can "approach to sign" those players. You get them for free, but only after the season is over, in summer. The only challenge is getting them to sign with you. To find these free transfers, follow this path : Search / Players / Filter / Contract / Expiring
