Staying committed to a game. - FMFormation.net - Football Manager

As the description says, how do you stay committed to a game on FM? Im just wondering as i have trouble sticking to a game. Normally after a season or two i loose all interest in the game as the teams are completely different to real life. Thats to be expected like but you know what i mean. Sometimes as well, i buy to many players, and get fed up trying to keep them all happy that i quit the game.

On a completely unrelated note, just had a match were all the events ended in the minute three. The three goals were scored in the (43,63 and 73 minutes) and a player injured in the 53rd minute. It amsued me.

I have the same problem as u as i had a really slow laptop and had been playing for a week til my first match. Anyway back to the point, the solution is to pick a club that are in a low league in a country of your choice, like the Blue Square Premier or the regional division, North/ South and take them up as far as u can.
Or you can take a challenge from the challenge section

well my current game im in season 2026/27, i find it better when u don't win every game, every cup, season in, season out

Thats not an issue for me lol. Im 90% confident that in my Football Manager career (From CM 99/00) onwards, i have won no more than 10 trophies. Im pathetic at it.

i usually stop after 3 or 4 seasons, but i have a mission to win the premeirship with accrington and will not stop until then

I set goals out every season of what I want to achieve. Or I tend to set myself challenges cause I'am the same as you.

try to play the FM2008 World Superleague db..it is more interesting and challenging..

and i won't quit the game as i don't want to let my fans down XD :P

im in 2018 in my game, and still going strong, and enjoying it all the same as i was when i started, although i have had breaks from it, but just got back into it ;)

ive just started with Nottingham Forest. Even though im only in Febrauary 08 i feel that im gonna keep carrying on till i have at least won every available cup to me.

This time at the start i have tried something different

Firstly i dropped my captain and vice captain just to see a reaction as i had a terrible run at the start of the season. I decided to whip my team in to ship by setting all my first team squad to Rotation staus. If they play less then 6 they get a warning and are dropped for 2 games. Seems to be working so far though lol

start with a team full of promising young players (arsenal i think is a good example), or buy a lot of good young players. It's fun watching these kids develop into good players, and it's challenging to make them loyal to your club and win trophies with them. if you're lucky, maybe you'll get a new maldini: a living legend that is loyal to his club. Or more, maybe you can turn your wonderkid into your assistant manager.

I can't stick with the same team for very long - usually because I get sacked in either the first or second season, but am determined to do better especially with all the help and hints on here !

play online its the best way!! me and a m8 play every nite or most nites anyway,adds a wee bit more excitement knowin ur kickin ur m8s butt,we are in 1016/17 and game s still going strong

Well I actually dont get bored as easily, as I dont buy too many players. You just have pick yourself a club that isnt a giant yet and it also brings me joy to slowly introduce good young players from my academy to my club. Anyways when youre playing FM and when it starts to bore you you just have to stop playing and make a little brake - it works for me.

i find if you start at the bottom and work you way up though the leagues with either the team you took control of or being offerd other jobs the best way to get a long game with the aim of getting to mange your fav club and make them champions

I have breaks from it every so often.

Like I'll stop playing for a couple of weeks or a month. Then when you come back it as just as addictive as ever!
