Please don't let him shove Gerrard out there. And why did we agree to let Mascherano go to China? he was one of the over-aged options and we had the choice to say no...we could do with him.....ok rant over. | Thanks to Liveru for the sig My Current Game Shrewsbury - Coca Cola League 2 | | | 05-08-08, 04:12 PM | #63 (permalink) | | Important First Team Player Join Date: Aug 2006 Posts: 742 Thanks: 29 Thanked 97 Times in 73 Posts Nominated 10 Times in 1 Post TOTW/F/M Award(s): 1 | If we didn't let him go. We could have a Deigo + Rafinha case on our hands. A happy masch is better than a angry one. If we can't beat sunderland and boro without him, we should give in. | natural (adj.) Definitions a. Alonso's better than him and we need another striker that'll score over 10 a season. We can't keep relying on Gerrard to make up the goal numbers and Keane got over 15 goals last season. Not to mention the fact that Masch and Lucas are both in China so we are lacking a holding midfielder. | Thanks to Liveru for the sig My Current Game Shrewsbury - Coca Cola League 2 | | | 10-08-08, 07:30 PM | #69 (permalink) | | FMF Donator, V.I.P and Writer. Alonso is one of the best midfielders we've had in recent years. His passing is sublime and as you stated Jon, he's showed his class again in recent months. It baffles me as to why Rafa's so dead set on selling one of his best signings since arriving at L4 in 2004. | | | | 14-08-08, 08:58 AM | #70 (permalink) | | FMF's World Football Geek Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: Cotswolds Posts: 1,402 Thanks: 508 Thanked 233 Times in 229 Posts Nominated 6 Times in 1 Post TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | well last night game against Liege wasn't very inspiring - what do the other fans think? | Thanks to Liveru for the sig My Current Game Shrewsbury - Coca Cola League 2 | | | 14-08-08, 09:02 AM | #71 (permalink) | | Official FMF Writer Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Adliswil, Switzerland Posts: 2,260 Thanks: 291 Thanked 456 Times in 439 Posts Nominated 3 Times in 2 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | we played poor, there was no width and keane and torres didnt have the bestest of games.. but when gerrard came on we played much better! | immer ein FCZ | | | 14-08-08, 09:37 AM | #72 (permalink) | | Important First Team Player Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Knaresborough Posts: 506 Thanks: 945 Thanked 357 Times in 282 Posts Nominated 11 Times in 3 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 1 | You were embarrassed. Standard Liege dominated the game, and in the end you were lucky to survive with a draw. You looked poor, you were 3 or 4 yards off the pace, ball watching, and couldn't string a good sequence of passes together. And I'm not being biased, because you really were that bad. If that's the way you're gonna play this season, I don't think any non Liverpool fans will be worried. | Thanks to Ap and Dargo | | | 14-08-08, 01:24 PM | #73 (permalink) | | FMF Accountant - Here To Help Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Southampton Posts: 1,596 Thanks: 153 Thanked 459 Times in 335 Posts Nominated 11 Times in 2 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 1 | The penalty was quite harsh but you had the awesome penalty saver Pepe Reina on your side. I thought the pitch looked horrible and I didnt see much of Liverpools fan (if any) but tbh, I thought Liverpool weren't up to scratch. When Gerrard came on, you did look a bit better. And I agree with Tom, you're never gonna win the league with this kind of play. | Current Game: Blackburn Rovers Season 1 - Currently 5th in League | | | 14-08-08, 01:33 PM | #74 (permalink) | | Important First Team Player Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Knaresborough Posts: 506 Thanks: 945 Thanked 357 Times in 282 Posts Nominated 11 Times in 3 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 1 | The penalty was very harsh and justice was done in fairness when he missed it. I think most keepers would have saved that, it was an awful penalty. Why didn't he start Alonso? He made all the difference in the 2nd half and Plessis, bless him, was a little nervous on the ball (in fact he tried to get rid of it as soon as possible).
