At the start they where predicted for title win and at the end we finised 11th wich gives us no right to play Uefa cup. So i hope they buy a few good players for next season. | Xbox 360 GamersTag: Vegismurf | | | 16-05-08, 09:19 AM | #42 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Newcastle, UK Posts: 233 Thanks: 40 Thanked 25 Times in 24 Posts Nominated 8 Times in 1 Post TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Veg, that's one terrible season really for AZ. At the beginning of the season we lost 6 gleague games in a row, the worst we have ever done. Our "star striker" Francis Jeffers broke his leg (shocker). We had no success in the cup, our team slowly got smaller as our first team got injured, we fell down to the bottom of the table even though we had been expected to finish mid table. we survived on the last day after beating norwich 4-1. The only up side is that we beat our rivals Sheffield United 2-0 at home and drew 2-2 away after going 2-0 up so we sort of proved our dominance. lol The worst part of the season though happened during the last two games against leicester and norwich because even though we won. Leon Clarke who is probably the most useless footballer and most unfit footballer in the world, scored un-needed goals in both thoses games which means that our stupid manager will give him a new contract and destroy our wage budget. | Current Game/s ----------------------------- Starting at Wexford Youths, Manager Darling goes for world domination, but he's gotta start somewhere. | | | 02-07-08, 04:56 PM | #44 (permalink) | | Scout For FMF's DB Update Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Liverpool Posts: 417 Thanks: 16 Thanked 77 Times in 76 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Well this seems the first post since the end of the season. I couldnt of asked for more from Everton. Despite such a small squad, we finished 5th, pushed Liverpool for a Champs Leagues place, got to the semi finals of the Carling Cup and had a magnificent run in the UEFA cup. I think if we are going to push for 4th next year, we need to bolster the squad with 5 or 6 quality players, and get more points off the teams above us. That has been our downfall for many years. The most dissapointing thing is, we never play awful agaisnt them. Twice against Man Utd we pushed them for a draw and we lost it due to silly mistakes. Like at Old Trafford, Pienaars only ever msitake he gave away a penatly in the last minute. But despite all that, we are making progress every year, and we need to be becuase so is everyone else. Our points tally this season got us in to the champions league a few years ago, and that shows how competitive the league has become. I dont think we need to spend big nescessarily, but wisely. Moyes has proven that your £20M signings dont always work. We stayed in top 6 all season. The 2 Playoff Semi-final games against Crystal Palace had it all.. and boy didnt I go mental when David Noble scored a 30 yard rocket in stoppage time to give us a 2-1 victory!!! I went to Wembley for the Playoff Final and I think on the balance of play and possession Hull were lucky to win... I'm not taking anything away from them because our defence fell asleep and left Windass unmarked on the edge of the area, only for him to slam a volley in which was truly unstoppable. Next season will be the test and we dont want to fall victim of SSS (Second Season Syndrome) Adriano Basso (GK) and Marvin Elliot (CM) were by far our best players and Lee Trundle needs to go because he is never worth the £1m we paid for him and he only scored like 6 goals all season. Come on you Reds, Premiership football is only 1 season away!!! | | | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is On | | | |
