Default England And Cappello

do you think bringing in fabio cappello for the england job a good idea?

in my opinion i dont really think it was a good idea JUST YET,
the man cant even speak our language so how is he meant to order the team around?
we should of got an englishman or at least someone who can speak the language...or waited till he could talk english?

IMO i think that nationality's should only be managed from a person from that country
e.g italy can only be managed by an italian
spain can only be managed by a spanish person

whats your view on the cappello job?

The man has a proven track record, I say give him a chance... I do agree it SHOULD of gone to an english manager but there weren't any decent ones available at the time...

Eriksson did well for us, he only lost a handfull of competative games
Mclaren... Well... nuff said!

Bristol City - Premier League here we come!!!

yeah i can admit that mclaren didnt do well but we got a handful of english managers who are capable,
i just dont like the idea of having a manager who cant do much at the moment apart from sit down in a seat....
even the fans at the football matches have a bigger say than him because he simply cant talk english,,,

hes got a good track record with previous jobs.. hope the silent man can bring us sucess

Dunno why eveeryone got on Sven's back coz he didnt really do anything wrong. His biggest mistake was putting Walcott in that world cup squad ahead of Defoe.

Capello is the right choice because he brings discipline to the side, and heis a proven world class manager, and I think he will do very well for us, and we can make the semi finals of South Africa 2010 if he can get the best out of a lacklustre bunch of players!

in my opinion just lets fabio cappello show some point in a few matches..rather than judge him now..he is good manager in term of record..the good of fabio cappello that i can see now is he drop a few player that he think that not suitable for england at this moment..but the point is the player that have been drop now improve themselves that their can have a cap as england player..for example, David Beckham and Owen that have some improvement from before..where Beckham do training at Arsenal and Owen soccer some goal in EPL match...

I think Stuart Pearce should become fluent in Italian, he'd be the ideal go-between until Fabio sorts his English out

this is just the exact same position that we are in with ireland now. we have Giovannai Trappatoni, a man who can hardly speak the language, but has a proven record atthe highest at club level. I say give them the time they need to learn the language and they will eventually come good

the good thing about cappello is that he isnt scared of dropping the "big named players" which previous managers done,

can he realistically be any worse than mclaren? I seriousley doubt it. Brave move by the fa, but a good choice in my opinion...lets see what he can do.

How did you guys see England's performance last night? I thought up until the penalty England controlled the game but lacked creativity and we did not have any genuine pace. Defensively looked solid in the first half even though Anelka was a real threat.

Second half was poor and Anelka gave Lescot a real test. Downing is just a waste of space supposed to be a winger and did not attempt to beat his man on the outside.

I know I am biased being a Villa fan but Ashley young has pace, can dribble and cross with either foot can not for the life of me work out why he was cut from the squad.

Anelka was by far the best player on the pitch in my opinion.

Cappello is a very good manager, and although he is not English the FA have done well to appoint a manager with a proven track record.Cappello will offer more to the table than the previous England manager's,for one he is not scared of dropping under performing players and picks those who are doing well for there clubs plus he is very good regarding tactics and making wise substitutions.Give the guy a chance he is still working on a new approach which will eventually pay off.

Last night performance was good comparing to ex England managers.I thought we controlled the game and deserved to at least draw. The only thing was we were lacking in the final third and we were getting caught when France counter attacked us and our set pieaces were below average. But Cappello will sort this out during training for next game, expect a few players to be replaced for our next game.
