Ok lads, we shall use this thread to discuss all the top notch players who are vastly underrated and do not get the credit they deserve. Time and time again people just talk about the Maradona's and Pele's of this world, then on to the likes of Zizou and co but over the years they have been some fantastic talent that may be appreciated by their team and fans but to the rest, don't seem to get discussed often.
I'll kickstart it and fire a name that I don't hear mentioned too often.
Pep Guardiola 
When Pep moved up to the first team in the 90's he became the true fulcrum of the ''Dream Team''. Born in Santpedor in the Catalan heartlands, Guardiola also satisfied the need for a local focus among the legions of foreigners and Basques. He literally wrapped himself in the Catalan flag so to speak and after important victories he delivered his after-match comments in Catalan, signed petitions in favour of a breakaway Catalan national side and toured schools in the region encouraging the students to read Miquel Martí i Poll's poetry during Catalan literacy campaigns. I always took a keen interest in Guardiola and fondly remember his razor sharp passing and great ability.
