Background info:
The season 1992-93 of the UEFA Champions League football club tournament was won for the first time by Olympique de Marseille in the final against AC Milan. However, soon after Marseille's victory allegations of match-fixing were levelled at them and their president Bernard Tapie. This involved a league game against Valenciennes, and it is believed that Tapie bribed Valenciennes to lose so that Marseille would win the French league earlier, giving them more time to prepare for the Champions League final. This resulted in Marseille being stripped of their league title by the French Football Federation (although not the Champions League, as the match in question was not in that competition). They were also forcibly relegated to the second tier in the league, and banned from defending their title in Europe in the 1993-94 season.

This first Goal Kick challenge urges you to take control of Olympique Marseille and restore some glory to the former French champions. Lyon are in the process of achieving domination of domestic football and your aim should be to restore the balance of power. Once you have regained your throne in domestic football you should start building a side capable of once again becoming “Kings of Europe”. Hopefully you will achieve this goal with much less controversy than the side of 1993.
Your main aims are to:
~Win French League Title
~Win the Champions’ League
The minimum length of this challenge is two seasons as Marseille do not begin their first FM season in the Champions’ League. The aim is to achieve the goals as quickly as possible.
Good luck. Any feedback on ways to improve this challenge or any future challenge is appreciated. I will also be playing this challenge (hopefully starting tonight :) ) but I will only be playing at weekends. I thought this would be a good challenge to start of with – not too short and not too long. Depending on the success of this (by that I mean the amount of people doing the challenge) I will add more challenges at a later date.
So c’mon guys, join in and enjoy a few good seasons with sleeping French giants Marseille. :D And try a post to a few screenies to show others how you are doing. Above all try and keep the challenge active, that way more people will want to join :p | |

Just start a game and update us on your progress in this thread on Goal Kick. :) Many people have already started but new people are joining and you are more than welcome to join as well mate. The more people the better :d |
