The fans of AFC Telford feel that things cant get any worse so they are fully behind the new manager and they all hope that the Board will be generous to the new manager and give him time to adjust to life in Management. The reports flying around the local paper, Shropshire Star state that Gook has been given a budget of around 10K. With this Budget, Gook promised the fans he will bring in Quality players and will see them rise the league with every chance of Possible Promotion to the Blue Square Premier League. The National Bookmakers have laughed at the possibility of AFC Telford getting promotion especially with Gook in charge. They have predicted that a 10th place finish would be the best that Telford could do. We will see the fate of AFC Telford and especially Gook as this new season approaches. | SELF MADE SIGNATURE =] | | | 14-09-07, 07:08 PM | #2 (permalink) | | vBookie Team, Member of the Ozza Family Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Cheshire Posts: 2,285 Thanks: 540 Thanked 341 Times in 278 Posts | Good start mate, New Bucks Head is wolves' reserve stadium :) Good Luck and KUTGW | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to WozzaWolves For This Useful Post: | | 14-09-07, 08:24 PM | #3 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Sep 2007 Posts: 121 Thanks: 16 Thanked 14 Times in 9 Posts | Telford Boss upset with Transfer Market George Gook has talked to the Sky Sports team in a press conference called Today. It seemed that AFC Telford are not big enough for Gook's targets. Gook had a annoyed aswell as a concerned look on his face as he talked to us this afternoon. "Why are AFC Telford too small? We could, WILL be huge and they dont want to be part of it? The problem i have currently is that my squad are young and inexperianced and i need to add improvements but none are appearing. Im after 2 or 3 players that will shine in this league but none are interested. Im not sure if I should say this here but im also very disappointed with my board for rejecting my idea for a Parent Club, in my opinion it was a perfect way for me to get some loan signings in but obviously im too inexperianced for them." Gook reveals he will continue to try to sign players but can not promise any developments soon. "What a terrible start to the season we had, First we had Tamworth away at the Lamb Ground in a boring game for the neutrals as it ended in a goal-less draw 0-0. Then our second game of the season brought along our First defeat of the season. Stalybridge took all of their gifted opportunites and won the game deservedly. I Wasnt happy with my team so i brought them in on extra training. This decision was my hardest to date as i knew perfectedly well it could backfire and potentially turn my players against me." The Telford Boss then display's a pround smile as he explains the rest of his August. "The lads responded brilliantly and put in maximum effort into their next match which was of course my first victory in management. We beat Leigh 1-0 thats to a goal from Asa. The next game was my greatest game yet and i couldnt believe my eyes when the goals where flying in as we came out 6-1 Winners in the end. It was a shame for Alferton but i don't think anyone could have stopped us in that game!" George Gook sits more comfortably as he continues to describe August. "Then the month got better as we serverly punished all mistakes made by Nuneaton to win 4-0 which was of course our first league victory away from home and thats always nice to record. The last game of the month was a a frustrating game as our tactics were undone by a determined Hyde side. We nicked a point in the last minute as Moore got a 1-1 draw out of nothing." "Yesterday, saw us go against a Hucknell side who were top of the table. The first half was a battle won by neither side. Then the lads came in gutted at half time as the referee missed a blatant handball. However, i just told them that they can win it and not to give up and die. They went out in the second half and scored straight away as Birchy notched. The game died down about until around 65 minutes as we saw Birchy score his second as he Lobbed their keeper. Khela then saw his shot deflected into the top corner which we will take. We then saw the game out to climb to 4th in the table" "As i had previously said the Transfer market frustrated me with players rejecting us. However we made one permanent signing in Luke Piscina and one loan signing in James Dean, both have settled in well and look like good signings." "Bring On September!" | SELF MADE SIGNATURE =] | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Tubez For This Useful Post: | | 15-09-07, 09:19 AM | #7 (permalink) | | The next Harry Redknapp Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Birmingham (Born an Bred in Salford tho :P) Posts: 685 Thanks: 64 Thanked 111 Times in 94 Posts | Wow great story mate, makes me wanna be AFC Telford now =P | | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to scholesy18 For This Useful Post: | | 15-09-07, 09:53 AM | #8 (permalink) | | FMFs very own ;) Join Date: May 2006 Posts: 2,196 Thanks: 39 Thanked 130 Times in 111 Posts | great start to this story mate, im very impressed with it, hopefully u will carry on with it, and this could be a great story! | thanks to James M for the sig, cheers buddy :D EFC Diddy FMF Unittttt :P | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to evertonfan For This Useful Post: | | 15-09-07, 11:20 AM | #9 (permalink) | | FMF's Comeback King Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Knaresborough Posts: 2,912 Thanks: 776 Thanked 270 Times in 215 Posts | Fantastic story so far m8 you should publlish it:P | My Crazy Season - Click My Sig! Gook readjusts in his chair as he begins on his monthly interview for the Blue Square Preview shown on Sky Sports. "The month begin brilliantly as i said last time we spoke after we beat the then top of the table Hucknall. Our next match was to be a tough one as we battled against a tough Harrogate side at New Bucks Head. The match began horribly and we allowed them to hit us on the counter attack and as young Pots rolls the ball back to Brocky and he totally fluffed the kick to allow Holland to score and put the Away side ahead after just 8 minutes. We hit back immediately which show great drive and commitment. It came from a well worked free kick and Jimmy Turner drilled in a cross for Birchy to hit into the back of the net after just 12 minutes. The game died down for a little while before we got awarded a penalty which my opponents management team disagreed strongly against but i wasn't gonna complain! Asa scored it just to rub in salt into the wounds but Hey thats football! The game died once again but we battled hard for our 2-1 victory!" "We then had our second home game in a row as we faced Burscough. The first half was a gritty performance and was a battle especially against their midfield. However, in the second half we dominated from start to finish, we won a corner in the first minute of the second half. Jaggers took it and put in a beauty of a cross for Teesdale to nod in with a thunderous header. We doubled our lead 2 minutes later as Palmer found himself with the ball at his feet from six yards out with a tight angle. He still managed to bang it in the net though in the 50th Minute. We played out the rest of the match just hoping that the game had been won. Then in the 90th minute we got a third, Palmer got it again but i didnt see this one. I was arguing about why the fourth official was signalling that there were 4 minutes of added on time!! Anyway it turned out to be a great 3-0 victory." "Next we faced a low Workington side and what the media predicted as an easy win for us, we struggled. They took the lead through a dodgy decision by the linesman as he was blatantly offside. Anyway the bloke went through and slotted his side ahead much to the delight of the home fans. The half-time whistle came and i changed the team round slightly as we went for the win. We totally dominated but it just wasnt our day and after we hit the post and bar i just could tell nothing was going right. As we went all out attack Workington hit us on the counter attack and ended the game by scoring a second in the 90th minute." "We kept our heads high as we went into our next match against Vauxhall. The game turned out to be an enjoyable game but i was cursing when in the 25th minute we gave away a penalty which i personally didnt agree with! Luckily for us Rooney, blazed the ball over the bar from just those 12 yards. Just before half time Pissy got a fantastic goal for us and boy did it fly in! He hit it on the volley and it went like a rocket between the sticks! In The second half we played great football and one move produced the result we were so desperately searching for, a GOAL! a great through ball by Jaggers made Moorey through one on one and he took his chance with full conviction! Once again the game died of as we came out winners 2-0!" "Next was our Big game of the Month! The FA CUP first qualification round! we had a tricky tie against the strong Tamworth team who are 5th in our league! Just before half time, slack defending allowed Tamworth to take the lead after Stephenson nodded in from 1 yard. After the break, Jaggers again provided a great through ball for Birchy to log their keeper and take us level in the important tie. Once again, awful defending cost us as Tamworth played a long ball over the heads of our defence to allow Thorpe have a free shot on Goal. However, Brocky made a world class save which fell to the feet of Stephenson again to tap in. We threw everything and the kitchen sink at them but nothing happened. That was it, our dream of the FA Cup third round tie at one of the big 4 dashed." "Lets Hope for a better October" | SELF MADE SIGNATURE =] | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Tubez For This Useful Post: | | 16-09-07, 05:09 PM | #16 (permalink) | | FMFs very own ;) Join Date: May 2006 Posts: 2,196 Thanks: 39 Thanked 130 Times in 111 Posts | Great Story :d Kutgw | thanks to James M for the sig, cheers buddy :D EFC Diddy FMF Unittttt :P | | | 16-09-07, 05:11 PM | #17 (permalink) | | What Bozza can do with an orange, I can do with a grape!
