Sky Sports news today reports that young unproven manager Sam Draisey has given the job of keeping Crawley Town up. It's no mean feat, with the team already deducted 10 points from going into administration at the end of last season. I had nothing. No home, no wife, no money. No nothing. I had been forced to retire from sunday league football through injury two seasons ago and now i had a gaping, football shaped hole in me. i wanted to get back into the game. In despiration, i took the FA coaching badges i had and searched the sky sports website for jobs. I was in luck. I applied for three positions at conference level clubs. I had always fancied myself as a manager. it dosnt look that hard. And when Crawley came back to me the next day, offereing te job, i felt really wanted. I put them of for a week and although the other applications were successful, i took the bankrupt, points deducted threadbare squad crawley job on anyway. With such low expectations from the media and fans, i thought it would be an ideal job for me to 'start my career'. We shall see. | | | | | 24-06-07, 06:30 PM | #2 (permalink) | | Aut viam inveniam aut faciam Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Hull Posts: 1,236 Thanks: 14 Thanked 132 Times in 42 Posts | Good luck, I'll be looking for your results | | | | | 24-06-07, 06:33 PM | #3 (permalink) | | What Bozza can do with an orange, I can do with a grape! I dont remember it being this cold. But dear god, it's cold! As i mulled over the team seletion for tomoorows game with Oxford, I groaned at how many first team injuries i had picked up. There's no time for this though, i need to get out for training. I am most certainly not a morning person, and when its this cold, i really dont want to be running around outside in the cold with a bunch of teenagers! But duty calls. At least they are paying me! FA TROPHY SECOND ROUND CRAWLEY UNITED VS TAMWORTH The part timers take on debt-ridden Crawley. Crawley United's website today reported that manager Sam Draisey was holding a special 'concert' at the teams stadium to raise money for the bankrupt club. The young crooner, armed with a guitar and microphone, strode out to the centre circle to belt out some of his own songs in the hope of raising a bit of a transfer kitty! The several thousand onlookers were somewhat impressed, with one lady stating that she would let him 'marry her grandaughter'. Reports of a public wedding in the centre circle were laughed off by both parties, though they did share a drink in the players lounge! Dear Diary, Steve Coppell got the vacant job at Bolton today. One day I hope to be in a job like that. I want to manage at the highest level. I want to know the pressures, feel the highs and lows of top flight management. We shall see. I really dont see my future at Crawley, though I wouldnt tell anyone. The club has no money, and while i really want to do well for the fans here, I just dont see us moving forwards. We are really in trouble financially and its getting worse. Its close the half a million now. I dont want to be seen as the 'guy who abandons a sinking ship', but I feel a little trapped. There is little to look forward to and not much to build on. We will see. | | | | | 14-07-07, 11:22 AM | #10 (permalink) | | Co-founder of the cult Ruism Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Dundalk, Ireland Posts: 2,366 Thanks: 195 Thanked 309 Times in 249 Posts | Hope you made some money performing that concert lol. | Current Game SV Red Bull Salzburg Austrian Bundesliga Champions 2007/2008 Austrian Super Cup Winners 2008 Hang on I better say "Red Bull, it gives you wings" or ill be sacked | | | 14-07-07, 11:15 PM | #11 (permalink) | | Important First Team Player Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Bolton Posts: 525 Thanks: 11 Thanked 16 Times in 16 Posts | this is great, keep it up | | | | 15-07-07, 06:33 PM | #12 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Feb 2007 Posts: 28 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | Pastures New. Sky Sports News today reported that following growing speculation about his future, Sam Draisey has stepped down as manager of Crawley. Sky Sports News later reported that Sam Draisey has been appointed manager of Scottish Third Division side Arbroath. 'Im not here to talk about Crawley' said Draisey. 'I learned a lot from my time there but its behind me now and my new aim is to bring success to this club. Dear Diary, A fresh start. It what i needed. I couldnt take it at Crawley anymore. There was no pleasing the staff or the fans. The welcoming feeling i got from them when i started had obviously gone by now. But ive managed to do quite well in the games left in Arbroath's season. Two players in from new affiliate Hibs helped, so i extended their loans for next season too! I even won manager of the month last month! Im enjoying it again. thats what its about. | | | | | 15-07-07, 06:39 PM | #13 (permalink) | | Co-Founder of Ruism. Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Yorkshire. 'Rookie manager Sam Draisey has won the Scottish third division in his first full season at Arbroath. When asked about it, Draisey had this to say; "Its been a great year. We had a lot of new players in, but they gelled really quickly and the loan signings were so good i hope to keep them on next year in the second division! Its been a huge effort from all the players and staff here and I look forward to pushing us on in Scotland's third tier next year." Sky Sports waits to see how this new manager will fair in a new league next season. He is already gathering a following in England, with many prospective employers watching his progress. Yes, well, a lot of chairmen would be interested in a manager than can build a championship winning side without spending a penny!' Dear Diary, What a season. this is what its all about. Its going to be tough next season, but i think if we all pull together and try to stay injury free then we can acheive what the board and the fans are asking. Survival. Personally, i do think we can do it. Even if the media thinks we will finish bottom! Im settled here i think at the moment. Its not such a bad town. We will see what i can achieve here. Bye for now. | | | | | 13-08-07, 06:37 PM | #18 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Feb 2007 Posts: 28 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | U.S.A appoint Sam Draisey as national team manager. Arbroath manager Sam Draisey has been appointed manager of the team placed 19th in the world rankings, The United States of America. Draisey will remain as manager of Arbroath, and has already recieved the blessing of his current chairman. Dear Diary, So, here I am, manager of the U.S.A! Im still living in Scotland. I was offered the job at Boston (not the american one!) as well but i turned it down. The pay was better but i think that i have built a squad here that i can take further still. We are 4th in the league, its January and although i won manager of the month last month we havent started so well this month. My first USA game is in 11 days and its straight in at the deep end, a world cup qualifier against Guatemala. Also, we have drawn Cuba and Haiti in the Gold Cup! Im moving into unknown territory but iv'e surronded myself with world class staff so it should be an ease in for me. Il keep you posted. | 'Not just a great manager' :P | | | 19-08-07, 09:57 AM | #19 (permalink) | | vBookie Team, Member of the Ozza Family Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Cheshire Posts: 2,254 Thanks: 540 Thanked 330 Times in 269 Posts | Keep it up mate :D | | | | 09-09-07, 11:23 PM | #20 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Feb 2007 Posts: 28 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | I just formatted my computer, and although i have kept my save games, i think I am going to take this opportunity to start a new game using this websites new Database Update.
