Default Crawley - The Ultimate Challenge

This is a story with alot of reality in it...

Let me explain...

I have updated the DB so Crawley has all the corect players (21 to be exact) even with real life loans.. and now the twist...

This is the FMF challenge Option 2.. I have decided to make a complete thread about it to show you all EXACTLY what I am doing and hopefully succeed!!

I shall post up screen shots of team, tactics, training, players sold/loaned out..

Why no bought in?? Cause this challenge is set so you cannot buy anyone OR loan them in.. If I do get to the point where most of my players are injured I'll see what I can do lol..

I will be saving the game after every match and posting images after every match as well so you all can see exactly every move made :)
-----------

Crawley Town FC
Expected: relegation
Odds to win division: 5000/1
Transfer money: £0
Wages: Underspent by £1,000
Starts on -10 points for the season
Reserves: Do not have any in real life
Under 18's: Don not have any in real life

Day 1
Hired new coaching staff even though the board wont allow anymore than 1 coach.. I hired 2 or 3 more!!
Sorted out new training schedules
Defenders: did nothing but defend..
Attackers: did nothing more than attack..
Midfielder: Bit of both

Sorted out a Home and Away tactic..

Arranged a few more friendlies to bring money in and test players.

Friendlies 9 in total... P9 W6 D2 L1

League Rundown:

Images to follow...

First Image shows matches played up till now.. ( havent played it for 2 days due to doing hte FMF update lol)

Second is the Home Tactic used against mid to lower table teams and those who arent a huge problem..

Third is my Away "lets gets a draw at best" tactics.... As long as its not a thumping I dont care!

4th is the ENTIRE squad as it is and will be for the season.. (unless someone leaves!!)

I have bought 3 extra coaches (which the board have let me but they only suggest 1)....

Ok.. 15 games into the season.. (yes I dont play as often and as fast as you all do.. its cause i have a life :P )

What have I learnt in FM07 playing Crawley....

Get your scout to scout next match.. and actually read what he says about who the danger players are and then set your Oppo Tactics against that person/people..

DONT use the time wasting option as Crawley.. they cant handle it ..they fall apart..

Its is best to use an attacking option home and away...

Make sure you give EVERY player their own tactics and what to do.. do NOT make it too complicated..

15 games in and 3 players are tired... and with only 21 players in total in the ENTIRE team I am struggling.. no grey players to save me ...

I have 1 life line really that could cause ALOT of problems.. the 4 loan players...
It wasnt till NOW when I realised that I had not checked when they go back to their teams lol... lucky me its the end of the season!!!

The press are not conviced by me apparently.. they sayin the 15 gaems so far are lucky and with no signings at all I will struggle!

What I have also learnt in these few games is that you cant always rely on a stable 4-4-2 and even more so with a team of 21 players...

3-4 injuries and I am really up agaisnt the wall atm... 3 out and out strikers.. and 1 injured leaves me with the choice of playing 2 upfront and risking injuries and burnout... OR do I go 4-5-1 and play for draws???

I got offered a keeper but turned it down cause I felt it wasnt part of the challenge..

In cup matches I have seen these as a chance to rest players and play stupid formations just to give other players a run.. I've played 5 at the back and 4-1-4-1...

with 2 keepers they are both working on a rotation basis.. and with neither of them being brilliant keeping a clean sheet is not easy.

As you can see I am 5 pts clear of the drop zone... after losing my last match 4-1 which was a killer since I was unbeaten for a run before that... but with injuries what can i expect!

Making subs during the match at crucial times to rest players is also someting else I have had to really concentrate on and not really looking at the score.
So far I have been lucky and not had any players being unhappy about being subbed when they are doing well...

Board are still happy with me..

Halway thru the season I was hit with 4 long term injuries...

Did NOT sign any grey players even when I was down to 1 GK and 1 striker for those positions.

Finished the season in 17th place...

A full range of screenies to follow tonite hopefully If I get time to post.

Well I have decided to stick with them for a 2nd season....

The wonderful board have given me £0 budget again.. and slightly upped the wages (I think)..

Bad news on the staff front... I lost the 3 coaches I signed at the start of season 1 due to end of contracts.. (over sight be me) due to they wanted to leave!

Signed 3 more :) and slightly better ones now!!!

Had to make a huge amount of free signings to even start to compete this season.

Played some friendlies so far but not really managed to get the big teams down to Crawley to play us so the income coming in was alot less than I wanted.

I think, cause im not at home atm, I still have 1 friendly left to play or I am at the start of the season!... played big teams preaseason just to get cash in and didnt worry about results.

Screenies to follow...
