Aston Villa fans this morning state that they would like to see Michael Landrup as there new manager stating that a person with his reputation and stature can only boad well for the team, Eriksson looks like he is a unwanted person at Aston Villa with many threatening to boycot matches if he becomes appointed. Sky Sports News 1.00pm Breaking news, Ron Henderson a avid Aston Villa fan now looks set to take over as manager of Aston Villa, This will come as a big shock to the other candidates in line, Many Villa fans are uncertain and think Villa should get a more experienced manager that can push for a Europe spot. Randy Lerner has said that the manager taking over will get a extensive transfer budget and is willing to exceed that budget if a player of immense quality is found, he is also willing to let his new manager choose his own back room staff. Sky Sports News 5.00pm Ron Henderson has been announced as the new Aston Villa manager, stating that he is the man to take this team forward. He has numorous targets he is planning on announcing tommorow afternoon as soon as he has spoken to the clubs involved. Press Conference 5.30pm Adrian Durham - Talk Sport Radio "Ron have you had the chance to go down to the training ground and watch the players train and get a overall view of what needs to be done" Ron Henderson - "I was down on the training ground this morning watching the players train, I was mighty impressed with the players who are here, we just need to bring some players in and increase competition, Last season the likes of Davis, Mellberg and Barry were over worked and exhausted, I plan to bring in new faces so they can share some of the burden" Ray Stubbs - MOTD "Do you think you have what it takes to acieve what is expected of you by the Villa faithfull this season" Ron Henderson - "I have the upmost faith in my ability to get the best out of my players and push for a European spot, it is not going to be a over night job but I can see us pushing for Champions League spot within 2 seasons" John Groves - Villans.co.uk "What players and staff are you looking to bring in and release from the current band you have?" Ron Henderson - "I would not like to comment on this until I have spoken to the players, staff and teams involved, I will inform you as soon as I can" Peter Little AVFC.co.uk - "Are you looking to bring players in or use Villa's youth system and promote players through the ranks?" Ron Henderson - "I am big fan of bringing through youngsters, If there are players in the youth setup I think can make it in the senior squad then I will bring them through, But I will be looking to bring in some young up and comming players in the next comming weeks." Sky Sports News 6.00pm As the conference closes up speculation that Aston Villa are looking at Pascal Chimbonda is increasing, Tottenham have released this statement "Pascal is a Tottenham player, he has only recently joined us, For him to leave now would be rediculous, he will be staying here the unforseeable future." We tried to speak to Pascal Chimbonda about the speculation but he was escorted straight from the training ground into a car. Sky Sports News 10.00am Official statement from Ron Henderson, He said "I have lodged bids for 7 players I think would offer something to Aston Villa, Ben Foster from Manchester United, Anatoliy Tymoschuk from Shakhtar, Andres D'Alessandro from Wolfsburg, Pascal Chimbonda from Tottenham, Gerard Pique from Manchester United and Nicklas Bendtner from Arsenal." With Aston Villa looking to bulk out there squad there speculation is rife wether the likes of Djemba Djemba, Agathe, Berger, Hendrie, Sutton, Ridgewell and Hughes are to remain at Villa. This has already put teams on the alert with Newcastle looking to bring Hughes back to St. James and Middlesbourgh looking to add Berge and Sutton to there current squad, We will keep you updated through out the day. Sky sports pundits think that Henderson if they aquire the services of Bendtner and Pique to there other upcomming youngsters they will reallu be a team for the future, One player no one knows much about is Tymoschuk, All we know is that he is a Defensive Midfielder and he is Ukraine. Sky Sports News 3.00pm A Bid for Bendtner of 9.5 Million, Foster of 2.7 Million, Tymoschuk of 9.5 Million have been accepted by there respective teams, With so much of the Hendersons transfer budget gone how will get his other signings, this is what we asked Lerner, with a positive responce "Henderson and I have already spoken, and I have assured him I will fund any transfers he wants to make, I am here for the good of Villa, and I am determined with the help of Henderson make this a world class club once again. Catching up with Tymoschuk we asked about his chances of comming to the Villa, he said "I think for me to turn down a opportunity to play in the best league in the world is something I cannot do, I have had a few offers over the years but the teams comming in for me did not match my own ambition, I think Villa can be challenging for Champions League spot within a few years, as long as the contract negotiations go fine I will be a Villa player this season. Bendtner has been in a meeting with Arsenal manager Wenger and chairman David Dein about his future at the club, contract negotiations are expected to start within 24 hours if Wenger fails to assure Bendtner he will be a key player in his team.
