Whats the best formation there is? Do you always use one formation or do you customize it for the players you got?

I change my formation depending on what players/league i am. But i try to use a 4-1-3-1-2 where possible.

Im using a 4-3-1-2 in my current season because it caters for my attacking players and players that like to hold up play and bring others into play.

Paul ... how can you use 4-1-3-1-2 ?? Thats 11 players and your Goalie wont be included in that =P

well i like usin the 4-4-2 diamond as it can be very balanced if done right and with the right players unstoppable
i also do tend to use 4-3-1-2 for a more attackin game

humm i always change my formation to what team i am and what players i buy, i tend to go 4-4-2 with the wingers attacking.

if i am playing away i some times change to a 4-1-2-2-1 with 2 wide wingers

if i am playing away against a tough team or a team with creative players i tell the CM not to make forward runs and mark a specific player tight :)

I so far always used the diamond 4-4-2, that always worked for me. I play the side-midfielders wide and very attacking with an arrow up front. So the 4-4-2 during attacking play transforms into a 4-1-3-1. If I want to hold the result as it is and play defensively I just take a striker out and put another DM in so that I play a 4-2-3-1 with counter-attacking style and it worked for me in FM07 so far. I also like to play more short than long balls with many-times counter-attacking and I use a playmaker.

most of thje time i use a 4-1-3-2. with 3 AM's for a more attacking style of pl;ay, this formation has won me many titles with various teams on FM07
