Guys, I need some help or advice -

How do you get an online game working?

My younger brothers have got a game up and running and want me to join, however I am unable to connect to there server, I have read peoples advice about opening up ports etc, but I have not got the foggest idea on how to do this.

When I go into the network game and hit refresh list to see what games are available, it does not come up with anything

Does anyone have an idiots guide to online games?

When my fiend tries to connect it comes up with amessage saying "cannot connect to server." What could be the problems? Thanks
