I'm managing Arsenal with the latest 07 database. I worked out a 4-4-1-1 formation that works like magic. Everything seems tuned up. I brought Pavel Nedved in from Juventus and he's looking like a champ on AML. I've got things off to a good start. I won all friendlies, and am in front on the table with no losses and 2 draws. Then Newcastle blow me out of the water 0-3. Following that, I win maybe 2, and lose 2, the losses coming from mid table teams. The morale of my team is steadily sinking. And it's not even Jan 1.

Do I need to change tactics? Start screaming at my club? Adebayour is always crying about how nervous he is about the upcoming match, and I'm ready to bitch-slap the little wimp. Should I rest him for a week?

Be really careful with what you say to the press, it will affect your players. Give your players encouragement before the game, and bollock them at half time if things are bad. Really go for it if you still lose a full time. Use the player interaction and tell the press if they aint playing as you expect. You could always get your ass manager to do the team talks, just make sure they have a high motavation rating. On the tactics front, try and stick with what you have, players take a few games to adapt.

over the season, the AI teams would have adopted ur tactics and come up with some counter tactics

its really frustrating when it happens because 20 over shot and non went in, pissed you off surely
i try to rotate my tactics as and when deemed needed=o

i found that too with valencia, they'd figure out the tactic your using which is a balls but when it happened to me i played a different tactic for 3 or 4 games, suffer the consequences and go back to the good tactic that your using! it worked for me anyway and my team were able to bounce back.

Other than that, like paul said, team talks and encouragement work wonders when your down! Get rid of adebayor...lol, manage interaction too, tell other team your going to win etc. then when it comes to team talk tell your players that they can win this game and encourage at half time!
