Right okay, look up to the very right hand top corner of your keyboard, it should say Print Screen and maybe a few other things, but when you have the thing you want to printscreen click that once, then open "Paint" or "Adobe Photoshop" have never tried it with Adobe Photoshop though. When in one of them, perferably Paint, go to file, there should be a drop down bar and click paste, then save.

Well where are you going wrong?
Like is there something wrong with Paint, does it appear on paint at all? Which method are you using etc. No one can help you if you cannot tell them where the problem is happening.

Does paint come up for you at all?
If it does, go to "Edit" in the top left hand corner and click "Paste". Then the screenshot should come up in Paint and you go to "File" and "Save". If Paint does not come up well then there is a fault somewhere on your computer or it just isn't working. I suggest then using a different application.

Good luck with it this time

try pressing either Control and Print Screen or Shift and Print Screen.. and try....

I cant see why a new laptop would do this.. but I just tried doing it all in paint.. press Prt Scr and then opened paint... edit and paste and it worked..
