Hi all

I can no longer play my beloved footy manager 2007 because it will not open anymore because 'your computer is running low on virtual memeory' --- 'your computer has dangerously low memory and will now close'

This seems to be a recurring problem with a lot of people because i've seen it mentioned in many forums but as far as i know it has never been rectified.

# I have Football Manager 2007 with no patches
# All other programs shut down
# I Have a few edits on the game such as logos and premiership pictures.

I've tried to increase the virtual memory by right clicking on my computer, properties, advanced,performance settings,advanced, virtual memory change, and putting the ram up to 4096.
but to no avail.

I have over 4gig left on my com and am now completely lost as to what to do. I can't believe that i just suddenly can't play it anymore. Surely someone out there must ahve some answers.......

If you have installed alot of programs on your computer, from teh day you got it, some of them keep reminding the computer to "start and run where you cant see it" when you boot up the pc.. so the pc is using memory to store this info..

The better way to increase virtual memory, if you do not know alot about pcs, is to click on START.. Control Panel.. Advanced...

you will see an option for "Performance" click on settings.. then click on the TAB marked ADVANCED... then at the bottom you have "virtual memory"

click on change.. then where you have custom size.. increase the initial and manimum sizes to 1536 and 3072 and see if that works..

if you do know what you are doing then you need to go into the msconfig and remove everything you do NOT need to start up at the begining.

UTT

Do a disc defragment
A disc clean up
Then...
Start/control Panel/Performance & Maintainence/Virtual Memory and adjust it (i.e. increase)
