Im liverpool and in my second season, the first season was just full of inconsistant results. The first 20 games or so i ended up with 14 clean sheets with carracgher and agger in defence THEN things went tits up using the more or less the same formation(with tactics and instructions modified to suit who i was playing). Like one week i beat say arsenal 4-1 and the next week im losing 2 or 3-0 to teams like bolton. Lack of goals up front too, my strikers are villa and defoe.

And now starting my 2nd season it seems to be tits up already, losing to covnetry, beating leeds 6-0 then drawing 4-4 with sunderland.

and it continues, beat reading 5-1, then , moscow 3-0, man city 2-2, then beat villareal 4-0 then lose to tottenham 2-0 and now lost vs bolton and aston villa

cant seem to get a long streak of wins going, which leaves it pretty hard to content for the title

I had the same bother with the pool too,but lately ive started playing more conservative to begin games

i use a 4-2-3-1 with the 5 midfielders farrowed at home and only the 1st 3 farrowed away,or if the opposition attack down the wings,i have the middle 3(xabi and momo deeper,with stevie g in front of them) farrowed with the wingers sitting tight,so it becomes a 4-4-1-1

i think the inconsistency comes down to pushing on too much,being too attacking.........if u look at the way they play these days,its all about being defensively sound and using that as ur launching pad

my frontman too is set so he drops deep a lot and gets a lot of knock-ons for the wingers to run onto

I am having the same trouble no matter which team I am. I believe it is called re-ranking. At the end of the season your club is re-ranked by the AI which alters the way teams play against you in the following seasons. This is making me really loose faith with the game. I find it totally frustrating. You win at home against top clubs, go away from home against a team at the bottom of the league hammer them for 90 minutes and get beat 2-0.

Alot of the forums suggest this makes the game more realistic but I am not of that opinion. IMO you shouldn't have to alter your tactics and formation for every single game, granted some games but not every single one. If you have a better team and you are playing a weaker team, create 15 or 16 good chances which your forwards don't take then this is a problem with the game, as your opponents create 2 chances and score 2. I have actually been beaten 2-0 with my opponents only having 1 shot on target.

sven, realisticly you shouldnt need to change tactics just your team instructions ..like say im playing arsenal, ill need to play a little more defensive mybey even counter attack them. Or mybey i play a team with weak heading at the back i could use a targetman and give him service to his head ect.

Fast opposition strikers is the one im getting caught with most, i sit deep and man mark and it seems to have stopped the one chance one goal thing(except fkin anelka LOL)
