As far as I know there hasn't been a thread on this but if there has just delete this one and provide me with a link please.

I have been playing FM07 since it realese date. I've played it everyday over Christmas too. As many people on here, I'm an FM addict. In all my time, playing the game, there was only ever one Board Takeover, but that was not at my club. It was at Arsenal. There are always huge rumours about takeover bids at other club, especially Leeds, every month there is more news on a takeover for them, they all started two years ago (FM Time), but nothing has happened.

So my question is, has there been a takeover at YOUR club, not anyother club, your club??? It never seems to happen, so I'm just wondering at this stage if your team ever gets takenover.

I had Glasgow Rangers (i'm not a supporter by the way) taken over but it was by someone on the board of directors. It didn't make an ounce of difference. I'd still as much money as i'd had when Murray was chairman.....nothing!

I think the takeover thing was an error which the patch has fixed. Loads of clubs were targets for takeovers, Newcastle and Arsenal being the main ones in the Premier League. Worst league for this was Serie B, all the clubs had no money and were always getting taken over.

One which involved my team was when I was manager of Newcastle in the pre-patch version and was taken over in the second season, I was 4th 6 points off 1st place, in the quater finals of the FA Cup and Newcastle got taken over, I was then sacked after 1 game in favour of Sven. This was a serious glitch as 2 of my mates could never get passed the 2nd season with Newcastle regardless of performance, they always got took over and sacked.

The patch seems to have sorted this out, there are still takeovers but less frequent and I think your performance is taken into account. My mate played as Newcastle with the patch on, he still got taken over, this time by a Chinese Businessman, the debts were cleared and he was given 45m for players. Not sure how often this happens.

In my current game, im playing as Celtic and was taken over by a 'Business consortium' in my first season in charge. This resulted in me getting approx £25m to spend (i started with £1m) and a wage bill of up to £800k per week (excellent amount for the SPL). When they did take over though, the new owners were interested in installing their own new manger although this never happened. I am now in my 4th season and i'm still getting £18m-£22m per season to spend.

Hibs in a game I was playing were taken over by a Columbian businessman, then the fella pumped into the club 30 million.
(Thats what he said he was gonna do)
There was no indicator to show the money (transfer activity) cept for the "Rich" rating in Club Info. :)
