Description

Steven Naismith is one the hottest properties in Scottish football today. The likes of Rangers, Celtic and Arsenal are all hot on this young lads tail. Naismith spent 2 weeks on trial with Arsenal during the summer months and Arsene Wenger has admitted he regards the player highly, and who wouldn't. His potential in real life has been well captured on the game and with the right amount of training this player could move onto better things. Over the last few seasons in real life Naismith has emerged as one of Kilmarnocks most important players on either wing or up front. Naismith it a very versatile player who can play on both wings or up front. In my opinion it doesnt matter where you play him as he will always give great performances. On the wings he will provide with lots of assist and chip in with goals but also up front he has the capability to score 20+ each season. Naismith is only 19 and has already an important member of the Scotland under 21's and at such a young age he still has plenty of time to become an even better player, with the right training Naismith could become a star player for most teams, if not thn certainly a great back up. Current Ability [125], Potential ability [150]

Consistency

Naismith is one of the most consistent players I have come across on FM. Even when your team is playing bad as a whole Naismith can always turn the game round and win you games on many occasions. Naismith doesnt have much quality around him in the Kilmarnock squad but if he has a good midfield behind him then it will only make him better. Naismiths work rate is very high and this is why he is so consistent. Even when he doesnt seem to be doing much he will work hard to get into the game and this often rubs off on some of your other players.

Strengths

Work Rate (17) - One of Naismiths greatest qualites is his work rate. Every manager loves to have players who will work there ass of for the team and Naismith is certainly one of them.

Dribbling (15) - Naismith also has great dribbling skills. His dribbling skills let him ease past defenders then combined with his decent crossing then here you have a quality winger.

Finishing (14) - Playing up front or on the wings Naismith will always chip in and score goals. Up front he has the potential to score loads of goals and is always among the top scorers in the SPL.

Acceleration (15) - Naismith has great acceleration. As soon as he receives the ball he is off down that wing using his acceleration and dribbling to get to the byline or cut in and go it alone.

Determination (18) - In my opinion determination is essential for any player especially for a winger as it shows he is determined to work up and down that wing. Determination is also very important with a striker. When he is having a poor game, missing chance after chance up front then his determination will keep him going and eventually make the break through.

Pace (15) - Having great pace had obvious benefits. On the wing or through the middle this allows Naismith to use his sheer pace to get by players. He is also a nifty little player to play up front with a big targetman as his pace will allow him to reach any flick ons first before any defender.

Teamwork (15) - Teamwork is important for any player. This shows he can work as a team and combine with the players around him which only adds to his game.

Weaknesses

Strength (10) - Naismith doesnt have good strength really but he is still young and this will certainly improve. Although not essential with a winger it could see Naismith come off worse when going into challenges or finding himself against a strong left back, also up front it means it is best to play Naismith with a strong targetman.

Defensively - Again defensive stats are not essential for an atatcking player but Naismiths his work rate sees him track back a lot and his poor tackling often gets him in trouble.

Set Pieces - Once again, set pieces is not needed but its always useful to have. If required then I am sure Naismiths set piece taking will improve with good training.

Final Verdict 8/10

Overall I only have praise for this young scottish lad. I recommend him for even the biggest clubs but as a SPL player, Naismith is already one of the most exciting players in the league. Naismith will also become a great player on the international scene as well with Scotland. Naismith will be able to cope in some of the biggest leagues and will certainly be a great asset for any club.
