Description

Chris Burke is another player to come through the ranks at Rangers' training academy. His potential in real life has been well captured on the game and with the right amount of training this lad could move onto better things. Over the last few seasons in real life Burke has started to emerge as a first team player on the right wing but injury has set him back more than once. His natural fitness on FM is fine though so injury problems shouldn't be a problem on FM. Having said that Burke starts the first season with a month on the sidelines due to strained ankle ligaments. This is unfortunate as I feel if Burke could get a good pre-season behind him then he would be one of your best players right from the start. Due to this injury you will have to be careful how you bring Burke back into your team, letting him get a few games in for the reserves until he is fully fit again is your best bet, then gently ease him into your first team and he will not disappoint. Although at 22, Burke has taken his time in coming through the ranks at Rangers but he will still develop into a first class winger in a year or two. Current Ability [134], Potential ability [157]

Consistency

Burke's consistency is not a problem from my experience. Even when your team is playing bad as a whole Burke always seems to pop up and get that all in important break through, either swinging in a killer cross for one of your strikers to tap in or going it alone and getting you the goal you need. In the Rangers squad Burke has people like Jeremy Clement, Barry Ferguson and Charlie Adam beside him which only helps Burke. All of these players have great passing which time after time send Burke down the right wing where he can use his skill to get past defenders with ease. Burke has great creativity which means he will often find space for the players around him as well and overall Burke will not let you down.

Strengths

Crossing (16) - One of the main qualities most needed by a winger is crossing. Burke has excellent crossing and time and time again he will swing excellent crosses in for your strikers.

Dribbling (18) - Burke's dribbling skills is one of his best qualities. His dribbling is up there with the best in the world and this is what any good winger needs. His dribbling skills let him ease past defenders then combined with crossing then here you have a quality winger.

Creativity (16) - Another quality which makes Burke the player he is, is his creativity. His creativity allows him to bring players around him into the game. Time and time again Burke will take round defenders then take find space for other players which has the oppositions defence in tatters.

Acceleration (16) - Burke has great acceleration. As soon as he receives the ball he is off down that wing using his acceleration and dribbling.

Determination (15) - In my opinion determination is essential for any player especially for a winger as it shows he is determined to work up and down that wing.

Stamina (15) - Stamina is also an essential stat for any good winger. Burke's high stamina means he will run up and down that wing all day long.

Weaknesses

Strength (8) - Burkes main weakness is his strength. Although not essential with a winger it could see Burke come off worse when going into challenges or finding himself against a strong left back.

Defensively - Again defensive stats are not essential for a winger but Burke has a good work rate which sees him track back for his team and with poor defensive stats you could see him give away needless fouls at the back when helping out.

Final Verdict 8/10

Overall I only have praise for this young scottish lad. I recommend him for even the biggest clubs but as a Rangers player, Burke will become your best players without a doubt and will start to attract interest from bigger clubs around Europe, but do NOT sell!. Burke will also become a great player on the internation scene as well with Scotland. Burke will show how good he is when up against quality opposition in Europe, or on the international scene. Burke can be bought for around £2.5m and you should definately take a look at him, a bargain for most European sides.
