Hope it helps a little. In Argentina, there are 4 main teams; Boca, Velez, Inderpendiente and River Plate. Playing outside of these four is VERY difficult as no-one else has the recourses to match them. For south American teams the big competition is the Copa Libertadores, which has recently been dominated by Brazilian clubs. This takes place after the mid season break. There is also the recently formed Copa Sudamericana, this takes place early in the season. The Primera division is split into 2 parts; opening stage and closing stage. Don’t let this fool you though. They are both just the normal league and will count towards your final league position. BEWARE IF YOU ARE EXPECTED TO WIN/CHALLENGE FOR THE LEAGUE. YOUR BOARD WILL NOT BE HAPPY IF YOU FINISH LOW IN THE LEAGUE FOR THE OPENING STAGE EVEN IF YOU WIN THE CLOSING STAGE. So make sure you keep winning throughout the season. If you are near the bottom you will have to play in a playoff, based on average points over the 2 stages in order to stay in the league. In both stages you have 7 subs to choose from, 3 of which can be used. Upto 4 foreign players can be in a starting 11. ANYONE FROM OUTSIDE OF ARGENTINA COUNTS AS A FOREIGN PLAYER!!!! Argentina has a great wealth of youngsters, so don’t neglect your youth teams. You will need them, players from Europe don’t tend to come to this league because the wages are crap. So concentrate on players you know from south America, but don’t forget about the 4 foreign players. Most teams in Argentina play with 3 at the back and fill midfield, so use tactics accordingly. I have found a sweeper or 4-3-3 is effective. But the only way your gonna know how to play in this league is to go and do it. So go and do it. Now. Go Good players to get: Do your own bloody scouting!!!! Hope this helps a little. | | | | | | The Following 3 Users Say Thank You to hicapaul For This Useful Post: | | 19-06-07, 03:19 PM | #2 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Feb 2007 Posts: 8 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Argentina is now so clear to me.
