BUNDESLIGA GUIDE

The bundesliga is ranked fifth behind the french league by UEFA and has some quality sides in it. It has the highest goal per match ratings from all the top leagues and the highest attendance average among them.

In my view it is a very good league to play in, but certainly can be improved. What I find best is that there are only 18 teams participating, which means that the schedule isnt so hard on the players. Besides that there is also the winter brake that lasts for about a month and streches from end of december to january.

There are also 2 cups. The most important one is the deutscher pokal that runs for the whole season. The second one - that is the liga-pokal is scheduled at the start of the season in august with 6 teams participating and two teams already seeded for the semi-finals.

In FM it is not tough to play in the middle of the table, but the gap to the top 5 or 6 teams is normally quite large. There are 2 automatic CL places for the top two and another qualifying spot for the 3rd placed team. 4th and 5th team going to the UEFA cup and another 3 for the UI cup.

It is a friendly league for foreigners as there are no limitations on non-EU places, only in the cup (5).
There a lot of quality sides, with the most famous one being FC Bayern, that dominated the league for the past two years and are the one to challenege in FM. The second best team is Werder Bremen that are qualifying themselves regulary for the CL for the past seasons. Two other very strong sides able to challenge for top spots are HSV and Schalke. Other renoun sides being Leverkusen, Hertha BSC, Stuttgart and Borussia Dortmund.

To sum it all up it is a league with very good standard, that could challenge the top 3 leagues if the money collected from the TV would be bigger. With bigger financial boost like in the EPL it could be much better. I enjoy playing it, but you can always make it better with bringing the results in the european competitions with the german side you choose.
