So what are these things, which you cant get for the wonderful 17 year old striker from Brazil which nobody has heard of but you think will set the league alight? (Just so you know now, you can sign players unde 18 from Brazil) First things first, if you playing as any club who can enter European competition and you sign players from outside of the EU, they will need a work permit (i will now only write WP). On the contenant, there are restrictions on how many non-EU layers you can buy (see individual leagues), these do not need work permits. In British competitions, you can buy as many as you like, but they DO need a WP. Who qualifies? 1: Players with a high reputation (come on, you dont ned help with who these guys are) 2: Players with a high amount of international caps 3: Players who have played 75% of their countries LAST fixtures Note: Players with a second nationality do not need a work permit, and will not count as a non-EU player in European leagues. If a player has these thing he will gernerally get a WP, you can always appeal. This will dely the transfer and my help the player come to you, if he is still refused a WP, there are 2 options: In Britain, if you have a feeder team which has listed one of the benefits is "to avoid work permit regulations" you can sign players even if they are refused a WP, and send them there for 3-5 seasons, in order for them to gain a second nation. If you dont have a club with this benefit, then the transfer will be cancelled. BEWARE, IF YOU SIGN A NON-EU PLAYER AND TRY TO SEND HIM TO A FEEDER CLUB AND HE REFUSES, YOU WILL HAVE WASTED MONEY AND WAGES ON SOMEONE WHO CANT PLAY (THANK YOU MR. CARVALHO!) The best countries are Belgium and poland, with 3 years, Spain, Germany, Holland and Italy are 5, Im not sure about the rest. By the way, Scotland, Wales and Ireland do not count as seperate countries. Or, find some young European talent, and look in your youth teams, thats what they're there for! Overall, WP's can make or break a team. But there is enough great players around for you not to be relient on non-EU players, yes, they add flair and income to a team, but regulations are regulations and you need to follow them. You've been told. This really annoys me.
