Well this is another new feature SI have put into FM07 which can be a good or a bad thing depening on which way you look at it.

Lets explain how you get to this stage in the first place.

As you play FM you get offers from other teams about your players most of the time offering stupid money or a cash/worthless player deal. As in FM06 you always said no cause you do not want to sell your best player due to many things such as players revolting against you, fans upset, and poor results in the future might happen.

Well in FM07 you do not get a choice sometimes. If a club comes after one of your players with a stupid offer. For example I was offered 53 million for Steven Gerrard and when the news screen appeared I thought, “Reject this straight away”.

Low and behold I never got a choice. There was a message in the same news window from the Chairman saying that this offer was too good to refuse and the club can use the money to secure a better future and has accepted the offer from Club “X”.

I was stunned!!! No where did I get the chance to say no!

So I started looking around at what I could do. Then I managed to find this solution!

If you are in the same situation as above immediately offer that player a brand new contract no matter if he has 3 or 5 years left on the old one!

When the player accepts the contract the “Interested Clubs” disappear from the players interested club screen and the offer is no longer there to accept and the player stays at your club!

ADDITIONAL:

You are also best asking that player along his life at your club what staff and players he woudl like to see at the club.. This will give him a bit more "worth" to the team and make him more likely to stay as you are listening to him..

Praise him if he does well..

Also give him someone to be a mentor to ..

All these things are more likely to keep him at the club..
