Tottenham Hotspurs Team Guide Club Guide Information, Club Name - Tottenham Finances - Rich Nation - England Status - Professional Reputation - National Favoured Personnel - Jurgen Klinsman and Teddy Sheringham Stadium – White Hart Lane, London Capacity - 36,236 All-seater with under-soil heating. Training Ground - Top facilities plus youth academy Continental Competition - None Media Prediction - None Starting Budget - £5m Overview, Tottenham are a good team with strong players, just people don’t expect as much as they can give. With underrated expectations you can rise above these and bring glory to the east London club. With an average transfer kitty and a good reputation sealing some player’s signatures should not be a problem. Gaining places in the league should be grand enough just beating the big guns like Chelsea and arsenal you have to watch for, shouldn’t be that much of a challenge, you’d be surprised how good they actually are, very surprised….. With a host of young players and very quick and speedy talent, you’ll have the upper edge on some teams. Fiery pace and lightning shots will give you the lead early on in matches; just need the fitness regime to go with it. Tottenham are a team that always seems to perform excellently against the big guns and in most times (for me anyways) come out victorious from the match. Expectations, Ok at the Start they do not give you real expectations to fulfil except “The team is expected to achieve a safe mid-table position” but hey come on? Would you be satisfied with that? I wouldn’t… Anyways, I would be aiming for Europe and to gain a bit of a reputation going through the domestic cups which is very possible, with a good team and a few valuable signing’s player’s will be rolling in for you. With my past experiences with Tottenham I have found them a team that tries, passes and scores goals on a regular basis. They are not a particularly hard team to manage and can bring you some amount of success in the early years of your time as the manager. So to some it up, set your own expectations as the expectations set by the board aren’t just high enough for the team of Tottenham’s Stature, set your expectations high and you will be rewarded on your managerial Journey….. The Squad The Squad has a whole load of Classy players in it which are capable of turning the game around in just one pass or two. With a strong midfield and strong attacking line which I recommend is Jermaine Defoe and Robbie Keane…They have a lot of youth and then the players that add the experience to the side. Captain Ledley King alters the defence and is there to clear up and last ditch mistakes from his fellow team mates. With wide passing from the midfield you can easily score goals with accurate crosses and runs made from centre midfield to meet with the ball and have a decent attempt on goal, and then of course there are the prolific goal scorers, of Jermaine Defoe, Robbie Keane and Mido (who is currently on-loan from Roma). For me the strongest part of the team would have to be the Defence and The goalkeeper, undoubtedly Paul Robinson is one of the best goalkeepers around and you as a manager will feel good to know you’re nets are protected with this acrobatic goalie in front of the white sticks for you. The Defence is very pacey and young, with speed, agility and a quick thinking mind they will be first to everything and helping out Robinson in goals. The Squad consists of the following players, Goalkeepers, Paul Robinson *** star player Radek Cerny (Joins Tottenham on the 1.7.2006) Defenders, Nourredine Naybet Anthony Gardner Michael Dawson Ledley King © (versatile in the DM position aswell) *** star player Stephen Kelly (versatile in the WBR position aswell) Paul Stalteri (versatile in the WBR/L position aswell) Lee young-Pyo (versatile in the WBL position aswell) Tom Huddlestone (versatile in the DM position aswell) Midfielders, Edgar Davids *** star player Teemu Tainio Jacques Maghoma Johnnie Jackson Jermaine Jenas *** star player Aaron Lennon *** future great Andy Reid Danny Murphy Forwards, Robbie Keane Mido (on loan from Roma until 30.6.2006) Jermaine Defoe My Recommended Starting eleven, GK – Paul Robinson RB – Paul Stalteri LB – Lee young-pyo CB – Ledley King CB - I suggest you invest in another CB (Daniel Agger wink.gif) If not Michael Dawson RM – Aaron Lennon LM – Johnnie Jackson CM – Danny Murphy CM – Jermaine Jenas FC – Robbie Keane SC - Mido Tactics, I would Play a 4-4-2 formation with play going down both flanks and one Centre Midfielder making a run to the defensive midfield position and another one making the run to the attacking midfield position. I would leave the defence normal although if you have a good tactic for defence’s that works well that’s fine by me use it. Play Robbie Keane behind your main striker whoever that is Mido/Defoe or a new striker you have signed. Basically don’t change the tactic too much and if you have a problem check out the tactics bit of the football manager fansites for help and tips. Tips, Well one tip I do have straight away is to play Johnnie Jackson, you may think he is in-experienced and worthless but watch him do what he does best, he is truly amazing and always going on little runs and using his exquisite crossing abilities to whip in a super cross an for one of your forwards to finish it home. Play Nourredine Naybet at half-time if he has not started for you and you fancy taking one of your central defender’s of, I find he plays much much better with half a game as his fitness and speed levels are just not upto scratch for a full 90 minutes, but trust me if they were he would be one super defender. Sign Daniel Agger also from FC Brondby, Helps out in defense and surges through to play balls into the midfield. With him and Ledley King as your centre halfs, strikers would rather not play the game than have to put up with them two rutheless defenders at the heels all the time. |
