Overview
With what is a very small stadium, Villarreal really need to work on there facilities but what they do have is a really good squad and Champions League football. They have pretty good finances with 5 million to spend on new players which is very good compared to a lot of La Liga clubs. Also you can add to this money from transfer as they have a very big squad and also if you do well in the Champions League, so they end up having a lot of money to spend.


Goalkeepers

I would say that the goalkeepers are the worst part of there team after losing Jose Reina to Liverpool in the summer, they have never really replaced him with anyone so they have two pretty average goalkeepers (Mariano Barbosa and Sebastien Viera) for the standard of club they are. I would say that Barbosa is the better of the two but he is only 20 so he can develop into a good goalkeeper. Also Viera is only 22 but I really don’t like him so I suggest you sell him for around 2 million and buy the Mexican Fransico Guillermo Ochoa who was absolutely brilliant for me only conceded 25 goals all season long and he is only 20 so he can develop into the best goalie on the game in my opinion.

Defenders

At right back I played Javi Venta who I was never satisfied with so I would say if you can replace him do it straight away!! And at left back I played I played the Argentinean Rodolfo Martin Arruabarrena who really impressed me achieving 9s most games and he also got forward very well. In the centre of the defense I played the experienced Juan Manuel Pena who did pretty well along side potentially the best defender on the game Gonzalo and he really impressed me and back my first choie defender out of the whole back four!!

Midfielder

I the centre of midfield I suggest you play the Argentinean Juan Roman Riquelme and the on loan defensive mid Tacchinardi. And on the right the 26 year old Jose Mari then on the left the 28 year old Roger. The midfield worked really well together scoring goals and creating but I would say the star of the show was Riquelme who was absolutely awesome. But Tacchinardi did really well helping his defense and get forward reasonably well.

Fowarders

And up front I played the pairing of the ex-Manchester United forward Diego Forlan and the Argentinean forward Guillero Franco the two of them were awesome together for me and were a really force Forlan scored more but Franco created a lot for him though so they were a really good partnership.

I would give them a rating of 3/5 as they have a really good team and have European football but don’t have brilliant facilities.
